Strength in numbers, Arisen.

One of my favorite 'videogame things' has long been AI helpers. I love summoner classes. I love multiplayer bots. I love Palicos and Spirit Ashes and Halo marines. I don't know why I sat on DDDA for 10 years because the pawn system is extremely my jam. Unfortunately, I don't think the game plays to its own strengths. It makes you wait too long to get to the really cool monsters. The Elder Scrolls-tier plot/characters/quests did nothing for me, I just want to explore dungeons, find treasure and have awesome fights with my team. I wish the game was just the DLC area x10.

It's noteworthy how well this PS360 ARPG holds up. When DDDA is good, it's extremely good. I'm glad that the sequel is being made in a post-Elden Ring world, I hope Capcom cribs some things from it.

It's really good when it's good yeah. The big monsters are all generally a lot more fun than the small ones, they're too beefy and you have too little AoE (except for mages) to get that really sick ARPG cutting down hordes of enemies gameplay. But they're still easy unless you're asleep at the wheel. Kind of a weird in-between, and it ends up making the escort mission that's like 5 minutes into the game feel like it takes 100 years. I bought it for my Switch and I'm gonna replay it but I am dreading that loving cart mission again.

Otoh maybe this time I'll play something besides warrior with assassin feats to make grappling easier and do more damage, lol.

it's funny that every single review ive heard has been this. i should just play it already cuz i listened to the soundtrack like 4 times. it's all by machine girl.

im sad for all the gamers who missed out on tf2 multiplayer because it's actually better than the campaign lol. movements more fluid and there's a grappling hook and stuff. nobody's ever gonna make a shooter like that again because you move at 9000 miles an hour. no way to sell cosmetics when everyone is a glowing streak

i thought the game moved kind of slow and wished it was faster lol, my brain is permanently broken by 90s shooters

i permanently compare everything to tribes and it all falls short mostly. but you could get really fast in tf2mp because the grappling hook had a really long range and the buildings were high. it's less grappling hook and more of a straight up spiderman swing.

oh right. i beat cyberpunk 2077- really good game overall. The fps stuff is good to great most of the time, the RPG stuff is mostly whatever much like Witcher 3. Most of the time the voice direction and writing all contributes for a good time overall in the main jobs and most of the side jobs. The cracks start to show in the open world though, the content there is pretty repetitive. There's also not a ton of it though so it's whatever to clear it out. The gigs are fun, cyberpsycho bosses can be cool but a lot of them are kind of mediocre. The driving is abysmal and I suggest you find a car you like and never ever drive anything else. But at it's core this is basically a Deus Ex game with a kinda lovely open world to travel between missions instead of hub levels, and it does that pretty well. much like the new Deus ex games you don't actually have a billion options available, especially in gigs, but you do get optional requirements here in there like being undetected or killing only the target or w.e.

idk about PC but the series x edition is absolutely worth the money, although it's not gonna be on the same tier as poo poo like elden ring obviously

I would argue that you can't technically beat slay the spire unless you idk get a20 down with a minimalist deck or some poo poo for every character. It's a rogue like, there's no really beating it. In that case a single win probably counts as a game beat but not completed. Imo.

im imagining how insanely sick an Arkane game that was just the good parts of every game they've done put together and im not sure im prepared. shame we won't get that probably. it's like they have a pathological need to make one part suck really bad, or the game is too long, or it's janky or something. anyway i need to play dark messiah still.
