I don't know enough about the Australian government to know how important Scott Morrison is but one of his daughters dies in Oct 2022 when a family vacation cottage/bungalow/whatever burns down in a bushfire that's pretty explicitly tied to climate change. He gets so much poo poo about it from the press and environmental advocates etc. that it actually winds up helping him politically

Also Bob Katter dies of pancreatic cancer, don't really know who that is either sorry

E: to be clear I don't have a lot of news info, I'm Level II so it's just the death-related stuff
