Didn't you mean to ask about flowers?
Jucika is a strip I picked up posting after I fell in love with it a year or two back when another goon was sharing it. They stopped posting but with all the strips available online (Jucika In Order on Twitter) I plan to finish our current two-a-day trek to the end and then repeat it at least once.

So Jucika is fine cartooning, well drawn, good punchlines, cute girl, but what really sells it for me is that it's so cheerful and wholesome. Jucika is super hot, obviously, but also strong, clever and kind without the strip ever being overly self-indulgent or obnoxious, as Jucika can also be flawed or the butt of the joke. I also like how a lot of the jokes are "drat, girl hot" but somehow not pandering or too sexist beyond the fact that it's a 1950-70s strip but it seems pretty empowering and forward thinking. There's a few great strips that turn the tables with men doing sexual pandering and so on and Jucika is always in control and never afraid to rebuke a guy who gets out of hand. There's also some lowkey powerful lesbian energy if you look hard enough at a few strips.

It has a very loose continuity in that it has one(Jucika gets married about 350 strips in, Jucika is terrified of the sound of thunder) but also drops it at any given moment in service of a joke(Jucika's Husband can be absent as needed and reappear seamlessly, they both seem unfaithful yet also ridiculously passionate and always eager to continue sharing their life together, Jucika has held as many jobs as the punchline setup requires, etc.)

I also plan to share a few extras from the twitters and maybe a good fanart or two as I have done before. There's a decent bit of it since Jucika was recently rediscovered within the last 3-4 years or so and the internet but also a lot of it is low quality porn that misses the point of the strip because the internet and girl hot.

But if that IS the joke then it means the previous storyline was about an author who is so dim he couldn't think of the concept of "two dogs" without a child delivering it to him with a bow on top?

It's an intentional joke with Rene but I'm 50/50 on Rex Morgan taking the piss out of Vidpa or unironically portraying him as some awww shucks children's book author on hard times. Neither interpretation is charitable. Everything about the "12 year old writes author's next book for him as gushing fanfiction and unironically gets a fat paycheck for it" was unintentionally or not slamming home that dude was a dimwitted hack. Like wondering aloud "I've had Kitty Cop fight a giant robot dog, and a giant robot frog, and gosh darn it I'm just outta idea juice! Wait a second, a fan letter? Two cutes dogs named Doggo? Billingsley can do fairy tale strips and stupid cartooning ideas like My Roommate Is A Zombie!!!

Put a bullet in Foxtrot's shambling zombie brain while we're discussing the undead.

Replace Nancy with reruns of Bushmiller strips. Olivia can do Sundays if they're not adults in kids bodies naval gazing.

Get Jules a partner. Editor, writer, assistant artist, whatever. I think Mark Trail could be great but the daily workload requirement caught her off guard and she never has time to review anything written. I know comics doesn't usually make enough to justify paying a second person for a bad legacy strip only psychopaths like us read but this is a fantasy mental exercise and all. Also she can't use the narration box outside of the first panel recap.

On that note Rip Haywire is forced to read a bunch of other action comic strips for research and study and has a strict dialogue limit of 25% of what he was going to actually put down.

Daddy Daze must be written as though the baby was a baby.

Ban all Garfields after a specific golden age date, probably by 2000 at the latest. Reruns from this period are fine, no new strips from Paws Inc are accepted unless an actual cartoonist drew them and wrote a new joke. Copy-paste banned on principle.

Bring back the really wild full page spreads like 1900s had where a talented artist told a completely insane fairy tale. Thanks for posting historic comics, all of you, by the way.

Kind of want to throw out a generic "drop Luann, Funky, Dustin, etc" on all truly bad comics but that seems the most sensible and boring choice. Maybe force them to swap artists and writers. With others, not each other.

I remember there was an interactive "tread water as long as you can" public service announcement flash game where you had to furiously scroll your mouse wheel for as long as you could until you inevitably drown within minutes because being in the middle of the relentless ocean slapping you with waves which are shockingly cold destroys you faster than you'd believe, the point of the PSA being to wear a god drat life vest. It was difficult to last longer than a minute even if the task seemed so simple.

Wilbur surviving would be pretty hackneyed is what I'm trying to say. And I know we're being set up to be bamboozled if we hope too hard but lol don't have Stella have survivors guilt or some goofy conclusion like "If only I married him it all would have worked out", boo to emotional blackmail!

Yes, that is a very off-model Jucika. This strip was likely unfinished by Pusztai and was inked and colored by other Lúdas Matyi magazine staff. "The editorial staff of this magazine informs with pain in our hearts that Pál Pusztai, cartoonist, died of heart failure on September 10th in Dubronik, Yugoslavia, at the age of 51." Pusztai's strips had been showing up less frequently, going weeks or even months between new Jucikas and I'm sure we all noticed the total absence of the Jucika and Husband dynamic in the last 30 or so. It ran from 1957 to 1970 with 514 officially published strips. I'd like to think Pusztai wouldn't let himself recycle jokes too blatantly and that as a man of integrity he recognized that he had made something good and it should end, though sadly he left this world before settling on when and how that should happen.

I'll post some extra Jucika stuff for a bit before I start from the beginning again for this year. Thanks for enjoying Jucika, goons.

"Interesting girl, this Jucika. People usually get in touch, when they are expecting more calm. When expecting much good from those whom they are contacting. Not so Jucika. She waited nicely until December, 1956. There was a strike then, no trams were in service, people had chaos in the heads. Till then, nobody knew her. But then she combed her shiny black hair, picked a nice dress, and got going. People turned their heads after her: "Is there such a thing?", "One can live so?", "Is there still somebody who can laugh this way?" "Aren't you ashemed? In these times?" - said a woman grumpily. But Jucika didn't care. She knew. That woman loved just her money, but not herself. Jucika loves life itself.

"What fine taste she has" said a small girl in a worn coat a bit later; and so that she could wear clothes like that later, she went back to the factory to work, from where she was dismissed by the hooligans. - This is a fine girl - said a boy too, looked at her longingly and "called" after her. But he had just bad from it, because Jucika told him her mind thoroughly. Her handbag, as it is for all women, is full of all knickknacks, but her head is not empty either. Her "cases" always end on a high note, often with a slap on the face landing on a flightly man. She is not religious, but she sacrifices a lot on the altar. On the altar of fashion Pposh but not lewd. An upstanding girl with a waist so small, it's barely noticable (pun in Hungarian: "upstanding" = "derék", but "waist" is "derék" too).

Her eyes laugh, sometimes sparkling with anger and nobody has such pretty eyes, still is often called cheeky (another pun: "eye" = "szem", "cheeky" = "szemtelen" (literally: without eyes)). Jucika is always nice, always just and never such as the bread in the groceries: she is always current (as in: of today, not yesterday's bread). Her dad may be proud of her: Pál Pusztai. György Máté"

Thanks for the kind words everyone, it's been my pleasure to contribute to a thread I love. I looked it up and Jucika was introduced two years ago by Savidudeosoo posting a batch every Friday. They've moved on and I was happy to have an unclaimed strip I was passionate enough about to post daily.

Jucika Daily was a good introduction for me back when the strip returned to the internet a few years ago and Jucika In Order is the source I've used since for posting in the thread. I'll be sharing some gems from Jucika Booru which is very NSFW as soon as you start searching but has lots of good fanart all the same. Feel free to enjoy all the Jucika you like at your own pace.

Pusztai was a great cartoonist and did lots of work drawing public service posters and announcements, advertising and things like magazine covers so there's a good number of extras in his style.

"This one is enough for doll clothes. Take the rest to the MEH yard." The rest is helpful translator notes. Jucika's brother confirmed, more deep Jucika lore?

I like the fanart on the booru when it gets the idea behind Jucika. Horny yet wholesome. When it's just porn without a joke it's like well, have fun, enjoy porn if you want, that's not what I'm here for. Now even Pusztai would occasionally do a punchline that was just WOW, A HOT BABE but Jucika tends to go for the hot babe and then add a little extra for a good joke. I'll post stuff that hits that kind of mark.
