It's up for pre-load. I feel like sliding is a way better evasive option than dodge-rolling in HFW, and it feels so good. There are times where it feels like it's actively shrinking my hitbox vs the iframe game of the dodge-roll.

But hey, I feel like GG is one of those devs that is really open to listening to their audience and is constantly working to improve their poo poo. Maybe they'll find a balance that satisfies likers of both games.

It's nice having a mount to get vertical, but I've also been enjoying finding secrets by walking everywhere and just slowing down and enjoying the view. The foliage, people! The foliage!

Watchers, Sawtooths and Grinders have a fraction of the aggression and space coverage with their attacks compared to the Burrowers. They actually stop between attacks to give you time to respond and your normal dodge clears their attack range, so you don't awkwardly get caught in the animation with the i-frames or get hit by some sort of after shock that staggers you. Please do, I was kind of mid on the first game's gameplay, but I'm interested in hearing about fresh takes on it.
