Yes. People have been selling modded smart sticks and boxes since the invention of proprietary devices. I remember relatives buying hacked cable boxes from random shaddy connections to get HBO and other satellite channels in the early 90s.

from around 1997-2001 (when I moved out), my parents used a descrambler box of some type that looked like one of the generic plastic VHS clamshell cases. It got literally everything BUT HBO. It was great for me as I was getting into wrestling and got to watch every PPV for free. Also, I was really into porn and got that for free.

The new Hellraiser started off pretty decent, but man; it got lamer and lamer as it went along. Like, it felt like something that came out in 2003 direct to DEE VEE DEE, and not in a fun way. In that, "no one will care" way. The woman playing Pinhead was fine, but i missed the black leather bondage dress the original wore.

Hellraiser did just that with a satellite in space in Bloodline, and i was they were going to do it again. Instead....nothing, really.

But you could drop any movie or show ever made into a fantasy universe and it would lose at least a little bit of relevance; and you could make Citizen Kane or The Godfather or whatever you want in the Star Wars universe, and it would lose something just by being part of the IP production line.

This is among the dumbest things I have ever read on this stupid forum.

"Fantasy erodes the relevance of other genres" is just so so so dumb.

I ain't subscribing to Netflix, though, because i think 99% of what they put out is crap. So all Netflix is doing is making me torrent it, where if it was in the theater i would def. see it.

As said earlier, Streaming services execs are dumb as gently caress.

Ok? Then you clearly aren't the target user. And they're not going to change their business model to try to appease people that are never going to subscribe anyway.

or they could.....i don't know; put in in theaters for a month (where they can make money from people seeing it in Theaters) or so then go to stream it on Netflix exclusively instead of having it out for a weekend then having it play literally no where for a month (where they make no money from people seeing it in theaters AND from no new people subscribing).

I mean, i do not care one way or the other, but Netflix is stupid is as gently caress. Nothing really changes that.

Doesn't every Hulu paid tier also include ads??

no, i get zero ads on Hulu.

Ads aren't fun to watch or anything, but i do net get being full-throated with hatred of them.
If i watch a movie without ads, i still tend to pause it a few times to piss, or get snacks, or make another adult beverage or something.

It's like ads have killed people's house pets or something.

This is agree with. If you ever feel yourself drawn to your phone/computer while watching a movie, just stop watching the movie.

I watched Silent Night Deadly Night 2, and each ad break was like 60 seconds. Each ad was also something for Chex Mix, Vodka, or anti-racism campaigns, so that was pretty cool.

I've said this before: if the whole season drops at once, you can still watch weekly if you want to. You can watch daily monthly, whatever you want!

And I don't give a poo poo whatsoever about "the conversation" or "buzz" or any other dumb nonsense you wanna pretend exalts the pointless drip

and if someone wants to binge a show, they can just wait until the season is over to do so.

i think shows should come out every 2 weeks, and only in 4 minute increments, and then when it finally ends so people can binge them the order of episodes is randomized.

If they dropped True Detective Season 4 all at once, most of the conversation would be around that wild finale where we find out that [spoilre] the True Detective was the friends we made along the way[/spoiler] and not the week to week discussion about who the True and False Detectives were.

That conversation will cost you.

You will pay for that conversation.

Rick and Morty looks funny, but I was exposed to the fandom long before the show, so I can never bring myself to watch it.

And that's okay because there are like 5000 other shows out that people say is good
