And then Trump called to find out if Vince was really dead or not.

I can't remember if that was the death angle, or the one where Vince was crushed by the stage, that they ended up cancelling because a real wrestler death ended up happening a few days later.

It was the car bomb that happened just before Benoit.

That segment also ruined Paul London's career since he was grinning like an idiot as Vince was heading to his"death".

Let's also remember that Vince's brilliant idea to replace the "Captain Jack" gimmick was to take the wrestler in question (Paul Birchill), and pair him up with a female wrestler (Katarina Waters), as a brother and sister who were having an incestuous relationship.

And that's not even the first time they did an incest angle!

Was it at least the first time they did it with people who weren't actually related? I can't remember.

Nope. Mosh from the Headbangers was repackaged as Beaver Cleavage and the gimmick implied he was having sex with his mom.

It's even better with context.

Shane's whole deal is that he doesn't really need to be part of WWE, but does it because it's the only way he can spend any time with his workaholic father. At first, fans think of him as the most normal and down-to-earth member of the McMahon family, but then he can't help himself and he starts booking himself in situations where he's considered a top tier fighter. Like being in a competitive match against the Undertaker at WrestleMania in a Hell in a Cell and having it last a full half hour.

The other day, they did the Royal Rumble PPV and the men's Rumble match is widely considered to be the worst of all the Rumble matches (of which there are over 40). It turns out that Shane was in charge of producing it and not only kept changing poo poo to the point that wrestlers didn't know when they were supposed to come out or who they were meant to eliminate, but Shane booked himself into the Rumble where he ended up in third place.

So Shane was fired for either loving up the Royal Rumble to such an incredible extent or because the show was so hated that they needed a fall guy.

Nothing on WWE TV goes on without Vince or Bruce giving the OK so it's 100% Shane taking the fall.

Same thing with Triple H being ousted for failing to beat AEW in the ratings.

say, mister or ms juggalo baby coffin, are you familiar with the in-ring career of one Sonny Kiss? You might be pleasantly surprised (or less so because you might agree with me that we need more of the Concrete Rose on our tv screens)

overall, I’d say that professional wrestling outside of Vince’s poisoned little garden is less uncomfortable with its lgbtq+ aspects than it’s been in my whole lifetime. that’s not to brag about how perfect it all is now or anything; but when I was a little spring onion, the standard was Goldust at the gimmick’s most uncomfortable and gay-panic flavored :stonk:

Not to mention Nyla Rose, a transgender woman, was the second AEW Women's Champion and the entire fambase told Racist Uncle Jim to gently caress off when he suggested AEW should make a storyline around that fact.

He forced Chavo Guerrero Jr. to take the gimmick of Kerwin White who was just supposed to be a super white white guy.

He made Vickie Guerrero do a segment where she was bound and gagged in a kiddie pool filled with mud and treated like a pig.

All the McMahons then did that thing where they insisted that Eddie was a carny wrestler guy with a good sense of humor just like everyone else and he would have been OK with all of that and supported it 100%.

Well Eddie did have a ladder match for custody of Rey Mysterio's son...

Bookers Getting high with the boys is the biggest mistake wcw ever made and Tony is doing a better job of that than biachoff ever did. He wants friends and it shows. His roster is bloated. His story telling is stop start and polluted by the whims of what his big names and faves want to do every single show. Everyone else is relegated to big crowded schmozz matches with zero angle like silver king and laparka used to do.

He is wcw incarnate and making the exact same misktakes more often and wcw itself ever did.

He failed to keep any of the cm punk high ratings audience around on rampage.

I’m just waiting for Robocop and Karl Malone and denis rodman to show up.

No. Surely it’s everyone else without an emotional attachment to the success of aew because they don’t also angrily resent Vince for making Alexa bliss act out a character that had an eating disorder who is wrong.

This bridge needs to be crossed at some point. But God you have to be careful to not just make it look like domestic abuse.

And the loving egos that are going to be savaged when you tell workers "hey, you gotta put over lady hotbody, and make her look strong. Sell her moves"

I think this happens in Lucha more than the WWE, but still. I'd pay to see an intergender promotion that didn't care about "man strong"

This is just begging for a recap of Jeff Jarrett's exit from WWF.

Have they referenced him being in the Dark Order on AEW TV recently? Colt was on the recent ROH PPV and (other than him doing the DO hand claw thing to no response from the crowd, IIRC) they made zero reference to him being in DO and he wasn't wearing DO ring gear or anything. I think they're just going to quietly remove him from that faction and have him be more in ROH once TK gets that up and running.

I think the ROH thing was mostly because that's who he was in ROH, not that he isn't in DO. He's been with the group during recent BTE segments too.

12 minutes in to it. The hosts are kind of annoying tbh.

In honor of page 69 (nice!!) of this thread, and it also happend to be episode 69 (NICE!!) of their reviews.

E: Well I'm not sure which was more annoying/worse. The 5-7 disappointing minutes of the video that I found on porn hub, or the 30-ish minutes of the hosts reviewing the video.

I suppose the video was more sad than anything, but the hosts of that show were just flat out annoying.

The review loses by DQ.

Sorry you didn't like it, though I understand why they might not appeal to everyone.
