Figure skating is so good. I think for Milano-Cortina 2026, I'm going to go with a jazz rendition of a favorite classic for my routine. In an alternate timeline, the only other bidder for 2022, Almaty, would have prevailed. Imagine the discourse on a Winter Olympics in Kazakhstan in today's climate!

mens hockey is starting today, and thus its a great time to see who all is playing for the big countries due to the NHL pulling out late on. (also its a good time to see how many US/Canadian/Russian players are on China. they did the same thing they ended up doing with their national soccer team, namely just naturalize foreigners who had been on domestic teams to make them at least kind of competitive, but with hockey they even told them oh yeah that rule about handing over a non-Chinese passport? nah, you dont have to do that, just wear this jersey with a Sinicized name and youll be fine, Chris Chelios kid)
