 this situation at least had me learn about other options that i'd previously been unaware of. this french app called 'qobuz' has pretty great sound quality and basically the same library. i think you need a halfway decent system to notice though. anyway, was worth it for me

 i mean i have 300 dollar floor standing klipsch speakers, i'm not talking ludicrously good system or anything

also lol that one of neil's post-spotify missives was ranting about the sound quality
