Strong Mutt is good and will likely win comfortably to the surprise of nobody and the anger of very few. I am a little baffled by the Plemons nod, however (and I'd probably take a couple of people over Smit-McPhee for the award itself).

It would've been better if Will Smith smacked whatever low-level TV writer wrote that crap joke IMO. not because it was offensive but like how is GI Jane worth mentioning 25 years later. i guess in that way it's very appropriate for the oscars

Campion has hardly covered herself in glory during this awards season but Power of the Dog is a well-crafted movie (great to look at/listen to if nothing else). pretty happy it didn't win best picture though.
