sometimes we're short on time, patience, or energy to cook up a meal or do something extravagant. other times, even the frozen chicken nuggets are too bothersome because you gotta fire up the toaster oven and let them sit.

what are your favorite go-to meals in this situation? I'll start by sharing mine, which is a good breakfast or after dinner snack.

Loafmeal

Ingredients:

1 packet of fruit oatmeal (110 cals)
1 slice of whole wheat bread (70 cals)
2/3rd cup almond milk or water (~40 cals)

total 220 cals

prepare oatmeal according to box instructions. add bread on top and mix into oatmeal while eating for a filling yet calorie light meal.

THE TAXES! THE FINGER THING MEANS THE TAXES!

Go-to low effort meals (from relatively higher effort to no effort)

1) Chicken and vegetables in the oven - Set oven to 420 (lol), season chicken and vegetables on a baking sheet, throw it in for 27 minutes

2) Meat and vegetables in the frying pan - Set stove to 6, add oil, chop up and season meat and vegetables, stir it around in pan until it looks like its done

3) A sandwich

4) Microwave leftovers

5) Bowl of cereal

6) Some pieces of fruit

7) A really really big glass of water

When do you add the toenails?

1. Make toast.
2. Spread peanut butter on the toast.

imo if you're turning on the stove, that's too much effort. Keep an eye on boiling water? gently caress that.

Red Beans and Rice:

1 microwave bag of regular Uncle Ben's rice
1 can of Blue Runner Creamed Red Beans (availability subject to location)
some precooked andouille/Cajun-style smoked sausage (optional)

Microwave the rice. Put it in a bowl. Put the beans/sausage in the bowl. Maybe microwave it for a few more seconds.

Two servings, 375 calories per serving without sausage.

Seriously, "dont eat candy for meals" is poo poo that parents say but we never hear the hard science behind it

Look at the calories on that stuff. Way more than a carrot

If you need fiber eat the chocolate with nuts in it

My lunch for 260 days of the year:

3 celery stalks
an apple
10 Ritz crackers with 3-5 tablespoons of peanutbutter to create 5 peanut butter sandwich crackers
One of those single serve packages of 2 fig bars

Anything else is an extravagance.

Chicken, carrots, potatoes cut up and thrown in the dutch oven with some italian salad dressing. put it in the oven for however long, at whatever temp you think is best.

hard boiled eggs, normally end up making a plate of deviled eggs.
