I didn't realize the first 2 were available for the DS and Playstation. I can play those! I'm currently on a stalled playthrough of 5 on the Switch. I love point and clicks.

The accents do get better as the series goes on, but they change Nico's voice actor with every game which isn't great. I just recently discovered this series and I'm on game 2 now. It's good.

So far I've only played 1, 2 and 5. I thought Emma Tate did well in the last one. Not great, but not horrible either.

I'm a white man in my 40's, so I'm sure there's a lot that I missed but Broken Sword 2 seems less problematic than the first. There is one character in particular who is nothing but a walking stereotype, and there's 2 obviously racist old ladies, but much of the cultures you encounter are glossed over or outright ignored.

I'm thinking specifically of Titipoco and the Ketch sisters. Maybe I'm wrong about Titipoco being a stereotype?

Honestly if I hadn't started with Broken Sword 5 then I probably wouldn't have enjoyed the first 2 as much as I did. 5 is very good, and George and Nico are mostly likeable.

Having recently beaten this game, I can confirm that the spoilered bit doesn't happen. Hell, the game even subverts a few stereotypes that may surprise you.
