Dinosaur Gum
As someone who works in fundraising, I just want to throw in a plug for folks becoming monthly donors to some of these orgs. Groups like MSF, International Committee of the Red Cross, UNICEF, UNHCR, IRC, and PIH are amazing groups that will virtually always be on these lists of "who to send money to when crisis happens and people need immediate help." One-off gifts during emergencies are truly helpful and I'm not knocking them, but these orgs budget, plan, and build up resources based on predictable revenue flows and giving monthly is tremendously helpful to them in that regard. Pick your favorite(s) and toss them a few bucks a month. It's easier for you, easier for them, and doesn't take away from your ability to send additional gifts when crisis happens.
