My last inline 4 bike was super temperamental when it wanted a valve adjustment, in addition to the carb it probably wouldn't hurt. I have to agree that it is a drat fine looking car, makes the Jag look like some "new money" bullshit in comparison.

Old cars had all sorts of vents on them, I remember a scoop right in front of the windshield on my dad's f600. Cars had crank outs and under dash vents but none of that helps after a certain temp.
