Hyrax Attack! posted:I wonder if the principal opposition comes from alcohol and cigarette MegaCorps that ran the numbers and saw their sales decline in states after pot legalization. In WA state there was something similar when there was a ballot measure to allow grocery stores to sell liquor and while TV ads against framed it as concerned firefighters worried about your kids nearly all ad money against was from liquor wholesalers, while most of the money in favor was from Costco as they'd been feuding with the state liquor board for decades. Altria, owner of Philip Morris, already owns a canadian marijuana firm. A few months ago Marlboro came out and said they weren't considering marijuana, and that's probably right. But Altria owns Marlboro and when the people at the top start clamoring for Marlboro 420 Greens, they'll roll and package them. Very much a jump/how high? situation for Marlboro, they won't have a choice. Pretty sure Coors has dipped a toe in weed, too. Amazon was one of the big companies behind this push, because they can't find people who can pass drug tests to drive their boxes around.

I imagine it would be a combination of them, the prison industry losing a source of income and republicans not wanting "those" types of people let off the hook for prior offenses.

Coast Guard tried to go with follicle testing over urinalysis for the merchant marine and companies shut it down immediately. Mostly due to the cost of testing but not one of them isn't worried about labor.

Cops will still find a way to imprison "those people" and politicians will increase the penalties for other crimes to satiate the desires of Big Prison. There's other poo poo that needs to be adjusted too, if this wriggles through the senate. Firearm laws will have to change a bit to allow ownership and possession of weed. If truckers are going to be allowed to smoke the DOT will have to shuffle their stance. Same goes for cops and licensed security. Laws around possession and presence of children. And who knows how deep the weed ancillary law rabbit hole goes. At least the ad council is already pumping out "don't drive high" commercials.

Amazon fulfillment centers are generally full time. The sort centers are (or at least were back in 2016-2018 range when I was there) part time with shifts that made it stupid hard to fit it into a full time job schedule. My experience never lined up with the horror stories. No piss bottles. Their were rates and scanners but the Area Managers were mostly scared kids right out of college. I started as a seasonal temp, got converted to an Amazon employee, then promoted to "Process Assistant". They hired me to start up a new building as an Area Manager, but I bounced for another manager level offer before I started there so I never go to see salaried manager side of things.

Yeah, you have to request a part time job with amazon, full time is pretty much default. I did 6 months on pick and by the end I was having anger management issues, so instead of continuing to punch every bin I encountered, I left. Would have been an easier job to tolerate if I had my phone and some music going, but I've worked worse places. Landscaping was honestly better work, and more satisfying.

TRICare tries to make me pay $899 for 30 day supply of viagra. Use GoodRx app and it’s $4.57. What I’m saying is use the GoodRx app when your prices seem high, there’s an extremely good chance they can discount you heavily. My angry Jew cock loves GoodRx, and allows me to gently caress anything for like 3 hours. 5 stars, would recommend to a friend.
