Come, all you fair and tender maids
Who flourish in your pri-ime
Beware, take care, keep your garden fair
Let Gnoman steal your thy-y-me
Le-et Gnoman steal your thyme

e: I think I need to correct Tea there - in this game, having multiples of the same soul does not power it up.

There is, however, a good use for having spares of some souls.

The moment when you came up with the thread title was priceless.

EDIT: Episode 3

Grand Armor? Okay armor at best.

The Student Witches are cute enough that I felt bad about killing them.

So, funny thing. When I played this, I never realized that you could get a free heal from Mina. So I ran around the zombie corridor with the Persephone soul to heal instead.

...I hate the Clock Tower more.

Clock Tower is much more straightforward, if a bit more brutal.

I'm also an episode ahead, which means I tend to conflate things a bit.

One other thing I realized and took away for my current play through was to actually use potions…they are just $200 to hammer after all. Too much giant robotic crab syndrome I guess, and it’s a shame because clearly I knew the bosses were signaled…

Doesn't help that this is the only GBA game where that's viable. Circle of the Moon potions can be gotten only from drops, and the lowest level ones are absolute garbage. In Harmony of Dissonance, they're obtainable for money but don't restore enough to bother with.

In this game, even the basic potion is enough to help until pretty late in the game and the cost is reasonable.

One of the funny things here is the number of enemies that the Une soul would be quite useful against.

The problem with Nightmare is that it uses so much MP per shot. It is good for room clearing, but there's a number of tough enemies that are more efficient and easier to take out with more underrated souls.

We've seen two of the rewards, the last one for the D-Pad puzzle is the rare ring which is only nice if you're still under the assumption that luck does anything and if you want to farm a specific rare drop, but there's no real reason to do so I don't think?

The Rare Ring's bonus effect is not luck dependent, and thus works quite well.

The gun is worse than the attack stat suggests, because it also halves damage. I don't think it is meant as a joke weapon, but rather that the designers were afraid of the range negating everything else.

I was kind of disappointed you didn't manage to die to Chaos. That leads to the Bad Ending.
