Obama scared idiots so badly that Trump got elected so if he could have toned it down a little by doing even less than the nothing he's accused of to stop them from being so angry about him not doing stuff to bother them I guess that'd have been better. Obama, simultaneously accomplishing nothing, yet so vile and evil that he swung the political pendulum all the way to Trump. Pretty incredible.

Obama was pretty awful but I'm with Chris Rock-- "he's very cool for a politician." Compared to the shitburgers of Trump and W. Bush he comes away looking much better than he really was. Still a neoliberal puppet at the end of the day, overcompromised and burnt out before even the end of his first term. There's always going to be that part of me that wished that during his second term he really went for broke and said "gently caress my legacy" instead of retreating into whatever cozy retirement package he got for playing ball, but I also can't really fault the psychology there and I'd probably do the same if I were capable. Still aghast that he let the GOP run train on the Supreme Court though. That's going to gently caress us over for so, so loving long. The Blue Dogs lying down for healthcare was one thing, but not taking his final year to really say "no, this is the limit" set some bad loving precedents we're all going to pay for.

Lived through Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr., and on.. Obama is easily the best of the bunch along with Clinton. Obamacare got my family on healthcare when I was denied because I had a coloscopy and had polyps removed, and my wife denied because she had medication for migraines. I think he got a bad rap because he tried to make everyone happy, which basically pissed off everyone else who expected some neo-liberal jesus, or was portrayed as one because he had empathy. He saved the economy from collapse and got poo poo on for it. Everything he did got poo poo on, but we're a nation of 10 year olds who want their own personal needs and wants before everyone elses, so.
