What drink would she order?

She's tried drinking with her friends a little bit, and of course there were parties in high school and college, but this account is a grown woman now. She'd want a Manhattan or an Old-Fashioned, something that comes in a specific glass with a specific garnish, probably from some fancy mixologist type bar across town.

EDIT
:synpa: birthday drink snipe :synpa:

Thank you. Its a thing, for sure. Like having the same radio station on in the background for 20 years. The music and DJs have changed over time but its still sort of the same thing.

tens of thousands of hours at this point. I've been reading the forums since 1999, working in a call center for a regional cellular carrier. Also the first job where my work computer had an internet connection.

if you spend an average of 3 hours a day on the forums that's over a thousand hours a year. Tens of Thousands seems completely plausible.

I doubt that I averaged 3 hours a day over the 21+ years, but I would say an hour a day average over the life of the account is reasonable. There were times I :f5: all day and other times I didnt go on the forums for a few weeks. Also once the forum became forums became subforums, its pretty easy to put threads on a shelf for a month and then come back and read through 1k+ posts.

My experience with/on the forums, and probably the larger internet in general, has solidified my personal belief that nobody in corporate America does anywhere near the actual amount of work anything thinks. Its kinda hosed up my career in ways and skewed me towards individual contributor roles because I can't lie convincingly enough that I believe the corporate horseshit.

EDIT

Also hella had my old jobs COO look over my shoulder while I was browsing the TG Warhams thread and was vaguely interested why I was looking at spacemans at work  I was out of real work to do?

I haven't really dug into the Cavern of COBOL or YOSPOS much, but I wish more of that stuff would surface in Gibbis. I came to the awful forums for the dick jokes in poor taste but one of the reasons I stayed is because of the extreme nerdy technical knowledge within the userbase.

:effort: I built my own PC with the flashy LED lights and water cooling and all of that and I wanna show it off in Gibbis but I'm afraid to make a PC nerds thread :effort:

It's hilarious to me that one of the big selling points for PCs these days is literally 'lights wooooooooo! lights!'. not that I'm judging, I have the brain of a budgerigar
