the previous owners installed so many cabinets in the kitchen/living room/greatroom that there's literally nowhere to hang a picture (aside from the fireplace) i don't even have a spot to mount one of those magnetic knife holder bar things, it's completely absurd. i had to order a box of 100 to replace all the cabinet knobs all the previous owners were olds so we spent most of our money after the purchase repainting all the walls, previously it was a crimson flower pattern and gingham wallpaper nightmare. at least there aren't pebbled glass jalousie windows everywhere

i used to live 5 minutes from google hq, can confirm that's what they make just from talking to my neighbors lol ofc it goes up from there, one of my old neighbors moved away to take a UX lead position of some sort for over $400k up in like walnut creek silicon valley renting was so ridiculous, eyewatering prices and a parking lot full of porsches and half the bedrooms you can see into are just a computer desk and chair next to a bed with no frame and no other furniture and ofc in silicon valley you need two of those incomes to afford a place. my surgeon neighbors were priced out right along side us lol

when we were there most homes were going for right around $1.4mil for like a smallish 3br my wife's coworkers gave her the advice of "have a price point of $2.2mil" because apparently that was the sweet spot above most of the competition (so more house for your dollar) while still being low enough to avoid 100millionaire attention lmao sure

it did, ducts in the floor and ceiling both they actually had to come back out because they did the ducts wrong under the house - code dictates that you need little 24" access paths dug everywhere underneath it here

# ¿ May 13, 2022 17:52 |

try googling recruiter companies near you and cold call them that way, they'll at least take a meeting even if you never hear from them again also depending on your state laws they might be preventing from touching anywhere that you've already applied yourself recently, so keep that in mind

it's because $150k doesn't go as far as you'd think when you're paying rent in an area near your $150k job they're probably spending at least a third of that on rent, probably more if it's not a barebones place in a bad area with a decent commute, which would place them into the "housing burdened" category according to the HUD like overspending when you get that first real paying job is sure a thing, but let's not pretend that middle class is wildly rich H.P.
