We took advantage of every single moment of time and place and we didn’t have to wait for the stars to align to get playing - we just played with whoever we had, wherever we could, whenever we could. Holy crap I’m just beaming in memory of doing this through grades 7 and 8 making up rules wholesale as we progressed, heedless of reality or established structure. I don’t know if I could fit a gaming club in my life, let alone organize one, but that ad hoc “let’s just game!” without scheduling hassles was magical. Thanks for helping me revisit it.
