My gaming club is like this, and we who started it have hard-committed to some principles: 1. An understanding of Geek Social Fallacies is necessary 2. When allowing new members, there needs to be a testing period. It's not enough you're pleasant when you win, we need to see how you behave when you lose, get absolutely loving destroyed, have a character die, etc. We've been lucky so far. Allegedly one of our members is an absolute rage machine, but he was told before he joined that any of that would result in his not coming back, and so far he has been absolutely getting loving tabled in Blood Bowl and taken it with a grin and a handshake post game. He actually gave one of our members a shitload of (recasted) warhammer figures he wasn't planning on using or painting after getting smashed like a thicket of rotten twigs in 40k.
