haha, this reminded me -- back in the days of AOL instant messenger, you could set your user icon to be a .mp3 (or maybe it was .wav?) file, and the AIM client was simultaneously smart enough to recognize an audio file as your icon, but also dumb enough to actually play it when other people loaded it. i set mine to a clip of "CRAAAAAAWLING" from the crawling in my skin song, not because i liked the song, but because it sounded horrible. and everytime i IM'd my friends, it would play the sound, lol. or maybe it was just when the window opened. either way, what a wonderful time. i still kinda miss AIM, but i guess discord is better in every way.

it's definitely a great song but Hybrid Theory is so strong as a whole that I don't feel comfortable saying there's a "best" song on it. as far as personal favorites go, I'd like to highlight the often overlooked "A Place for My Head," which I pretty much never see people talk about. love the clear spanish influence on it.

I really don't care for In The End though. it just doesn't have the bite I look for in an LP song, it's just kind of a weepy ballad with some industrial and rap elements. even Crawling, which is also very dopey and melodramatic, makes up for it with that edge in the chorus.
