This game is very fun, there is always lots to do and it isn’t a freemium grind. Most of the community is very nice and generous, and scamming people will get your mailbox shut down and/or get you banned and this seems to work fairly well to keep people in check. I’m pleased that the hot potato is picking up. I have over 300 each of Inferno Sphere and Lava Sphere to sell once the bonus cranks up high enough. The last event with the eggs started off as a bit of a shitshow with people selling eggs for gold, then the egg lending started and it was a lot more fun. (I said most people are nice and generous but during the egg event I saw one clown begging for eggs in givesways and then trying to sell them for gold in trade). Anyway, I have an over-abundance of many things so hit me up if you need anything - I am Sledcommando in game. No Orange Geckos though. I have spent days and days trying to get enough geckos and I am so sick of Black Rock Canyon; I still need 13 more for the quest. Orange Geckos aren’t mailable anyway

I forgot to mention, I also joined the Patreon at beta tester level and it’s not bad. I probably won’t stay because I don’t think it’s worth AU$15 a month but the “perk set” thing is nice. I don’t care as much about the other benefits: 200 Gold per month, increased mailbox size, early access to stuff. Perk Sets: You can save different configurations of perks, say one specialised for farming, one for crafting, exploring, fishing. You do have to remember to switch but it’s become second nature after a little bit.

Klungar posted:I’ll say I think you can eventually get most everything you want in a single Perk set, but you’ll like miss out on, say, 30% extra XP per skill in doing so, which may seem like a lot, but by the time you’d get around to buying those skills normally, you are very likely close to max level anyway. I’ve not yet spent a single cent on the game, and only beating the end of main line progression do I really feel any pressure to do so, and mostly out of wanting to support the dev if anything. Even the perks I’d buy with the gold would be nice to have (Cellar Expansion, Grape Juice Fountain), but not mandatory or anything. The game is almost uniquely balanced in how it provides and consumes its premium currency for the F2P player. Good point. I can’t quite get all the perks I’d want at once yet but will eventually get there - either way it won’t be a big loss but just the only nicety of beta that I’d want to keep. - Another thought for farmers who are still levelling - you can swap Lemonade for OJ at about 1:3 ratio in trade chat. The reason you might do this is Lemonade doesn’t give you XP, it just finds items instantly whereas OJ gives you stamina. When you click explore you use that stamina and get XP plus a chance to find items.

Yep, what Lone Goat said, it runs on anything and is essentially Java running on a server. A side benefit of this is updates can be pushed out without needing official app store updates. Occasionally you see things being updated in real time - like a placeholder appears and when you refresh something new has filled it. When they added icons Perks, Mastery and Chores this week I saw the blank spots appear against each option, refreshed and the first icon showed up, refreshed again for the second icon as well. Then a few more seconds I refreshed and got the final one.

You can also check if you have anything at your inventory cap by typing “max” in the search bar of the Farmers Market or Inventory screens. I forget who posted that to the iOS thread but it’s really useful.

If you have money I recommend you buy all the steak you can today, 30k per is in the record lows. The swing back could be looking at 70+, although I think 60s is more likely. Either one will be 100% profit. **The price increase may not be after todays reset, it may take another price change tomorrow to see the increase or full profit realised. Either way it’s impossible that prices will not increase when it at the least settles back into the 50k region, so this is guaranteed money.

Well I overestimated but still a healthy profit in those steaks. I honestly thought it would be more but it’s still profit I guess.

Three types of manual exploring: lovely, lovely oak, and lovely loving oak Couldn’t manage to get a screen grab of an actual good explore with two diverse rows. Thinking if I set up like an auto-clicker script, which hits explore and then screenshots I could get better ones. By the by, despite how easy it would be automating the game isn’t allowed; given that just 1600 players during an event can cause lag I understand why. There was also a warning about bots/automation in the update notes last month where they had one player making 30,000 calls per minute - so I can imagine everyone’s poorly written scripts making multiple calls every second would make it unplayable.

So close yet so far… Waiting on broccoli, shinefish and crab claws. New pet was added today that will help with crab claws, the pirate bird. Instant pickup and level six for me. Definitely a worthwhile pickup for most people as there’s a number of quests that require crab claws, and they have a very low drop rate from Emerald Beach. The quickest way I’ve got crab claws in the past was farming frogs and throwing them in the wishing well each day.

This is true, even if your inventory for that item is full. You don't get the extra item, but you do get the XP for it. There is also some bonus XP possible if you rank up your Stamina Effectiveness. This is why I traded my lemonade for OJ when doing that final Exploring levelling push. Last I did it in trade it was about 80 OJ : 200 Lemonade (prices may vary)l

As a plus your Macaw also brings Large Chest 02 which you should bank for later quests that require hundreds of small screws each. I am on Tower Investment XII which requires 700 small screws plus 100 flywheels (which are made with 7 screws each) and have given up trying to farm those chests from BRC. buddy.farm has them at 1 in 14,677 - which matches about what I was seeing. Each chest contains 8 screws. So for 1,400 small screws it’d be about 2,568,475 stamina - if you were to do it just by exploration. So now I am just waiting on the bird to bring enough chests for me to deal with this request - with a small assist from the armadillo, who brings screws one at a time.

Same. I was doing the last of the big tower unlock quests yesterday/today and it wants 400 dragonfly and 400 grasshoppers, which both pretty much only come from a level 6 lemur. I think I had about 240 dragonflies and 350 grasshoppers and giveaways had me sorted out in in a flash. I have the tower unlocked now and I have spent all my silver getting to Level 14. The first artifact is nice: 10% faster crops. Corn grows in 24 minutes. I feel like I can ease back on the quests for a bit, put my focus on silver and putting silver into tower levels.

You can safely ignore the Collector quests until you are otherwise just upgrading pets to level 6, they don’t lead anywhere or unlock anything. The honey struggle is real! I’ve only ever used it for quests, I have all level 6 pets (except onionhead) and now I’m on my final quest that requires honey and still 150 short of the requirement. I don’t know about others but I definitely hit the point you’re at around that point of levelling, where you pretty much can’t progress anything and just have to wait it out.

Xerol posted:I'm working on green cloak mastery so I'm (almost) overflowing with letters. Green cloaks are a good long-term project while I'm waiting for pets to bring herbs because the exploration zones (mostly highland hills and misty forest, with a bit of farm forest for leather) give tons of materials for other relatively easy masteries (amethyst necklaces, purple diaries, etc.), and any extra twine just goes to more nets. I knocked off A Way Back 27-29 yesterday and now need 700 Skull Coins for part 30, so that’s on the back burner for a while. I’m sitting on 11.5b silver at the moment and I can either climb a few more steps of the tower (currently on level 30) or get a level 6 Strange Onion. Really not sure which I’m going to go with, I’ve already got the 10b crop row and 10b storehouse upgrade. Probably leaning towards the onion so I can complete the pets and then get back to the tower.

The thread spawned from the iOS games thread, when we were making GBS threads that up with farm talk. Peaches are talk of the town but in-game notes for alpha players really interests me, says it might stay alpha but I hope it gets pushed to all as I’ve been wanting something like that for a while. I tried using messages to write myself notes because you can send them to yourself+reply to yourself but once they get long enough the buttons disappear under the quest tracker and it’s just stupid to have to turn that off and on to make notes. Now I just have a page in Notion for my farm notes - which I use for all my note taking anyway.

I tend to forget the locksmith exists until I need something that comes in bulk from chests or bags, so I’ve got hundreds of chests and bags and keys. I took Borgen up on his cheap OJ offer and opened all of my Medium Chest 01s - 50 AC, 100 Apples, 1 Grape Juice. Not sure what I’m going to do with all the banked stamina yet but I guess I won’t have worry about running out ever again.

I thought he looked more evil in his picture but not so much. Still, not the good guy of Redbrook. Just a thought - if you’re doing the exchange for mega-beet seeds it might be worth holding them for an event when there is bonus silver+xp. Then you can grape juice your way to riches. There’s supposed to be an event early July so it’s also probably worth making sure you have a full inventory of beets to sell when that rolls around anyway.

Mandrill for grape juice is a good call. I’m not certain but I’m considering buying 93 buddystones from Borgen to get the Buddy background. I have enough chests and keys for the coins but the catch is using up the gems from the chests and not just voiding or selling them.

I like logging in 20 mins after reset to see “community centre complete”. I don’t have to contribute more than 1 item for a reward, and it’s really not a community event it’s just an ego measure for the people who have huge resources at their backs. Decided against getting my 100 buddystones from Borgen just because I don’t have time for it today - not without voiding a lot of stuff: the opening chests, crafting gems and jewellery, exploring/growing mushrooms repeatedly for hours.

I like the onion but I only bought it after I’d got the storehouse and farm 10b rows and spent billions more on other stuff. Then I had silver building up and thought why not complete the pet stop. I think the megaseeds are a value add that may make it a little more desirable. For this event I’ve been able to grow 40 megabeet seeds per grape juice for the last two days. I’ve also grown/growing megasunflower seeds over night (14 hours). It’s pretty good silver.

I sort of left the tower until last, just sort of working on it in the background while concentrating on other things - it’s a massive grind even compared to some of the more grindy quests. I did the similar. The tower is a huge resource and silver hole so I was mostly pushing through other quests first and getting all my pets to 6, which helps with the tower. For example the capy brings grab bag 07 which is full of gold fish and the armadillo brings screws and springs, and all of these are needed for ATI quests.

You could log on twice a day to sell them and make 5k in progress on that mastery every day automatically. Cool. I guess I’ll make a couple of sets to cover that and overnight, my first thought was just nets and it seemed to work well - I logged in and found all my net crafting for the day well underway. I had been pretty much just spamming nets at zones where I saw a fish I was close to mastering, but this gives it a lot more focus and I was able to knock out a couple of quick GMs with the opportunities this calculator identified. Still a tough call whether to put nets to GM or silver, since I need more of both to get to the top of the drat tower.
