That NFCN is so much stronger-looking than last year's actual product, what the heck.

Redeye Flight posted:That NFCN is so much stronger-looking than last year's actual product, what the heck. I imagine Detroit is helped immensely in the simulator as it doesn't account for injuries, and they get their final roster. It's easy to forget but Detroit was absolutely turbofucked by injuries last season (to the point that something like only three players on the offense actually played every game), and having Josh Reynolds from the start really helps alleviate the utter lack of talent/depth at receiver. e: lol it's even worse than I remembered, only two players (Will Harris and Nick Williams) started every game, and only eleven players (including the punter and long snapper) played in every game. The Ravens had more players that actually managed to stay healthy for every game. Acebuckeye13 fucked around with this message at 06:28 on May 26, 2022 |

The major difference being the players lost to injury on the Ravens were actually good.

Cards come back down 11 in the 4th quarter to tie and give up a FG as time expires. sounds about right.

Frank Ragnow was All-Pro in 2020, Hockenson went to the Pro Bowl, Taylor Decker is a very good LT (I'm actually surprised he wasn't in the pro bowl), Romeo Okwara was the top edge rusher on the team in 2020 and was top ten in the league in sacks. Yeah the Lions weren't a good team last year, but that doesn't mean they didn't have good players - and arguably, part of the reason why they were so bad was because almost all their best players were injured for most of the season!

I believe, in the dumbest possible way, that the injuries the Lions sustained last year are actually better for the team overall moving forward. The injuries allowed for coaching ingenuity to be tested, for backups to be tested, and playing experience to a significant amount of the roster will only strengthen the team.

I can sort of see an argument for some of those injuries, like the loss of Tyrell Williams giving more opportunities to Amon-Ra St. Brown, but you also can't say that the loss of, say, Jeff Okudah was anything other than a major setback (given it's now year three and we still don't know if our CB1 is any good)
