Thankfully haven't caught it yet, but am a shut in so.
But a work mate, lives with 3 others, they all got it 2-3 months ago and were bad. And work mate took care of them, being as careful as he could.
He didn't get it from them, leaving food outside bedroom doors, wiping everything after, etc.
His birthday was a week and a bit ago, and they took him to a fancy Japanese sushi restaurant that you have to book. As for his birthday and thanks for taking care of him.
He got it from there.
And seems to be hit badly with it, but not hospital worthy yet.

Cromwell had a cornish accent.
So a vampire hunter sounding like the old guy from Hot Fuzz would be watchable as hell.

Edit: 11. 11 is one less than the amount of millions Prince Nonce of Noncenton paid to keep his noncing out of the papers.

Did a few courses on AI for my Computer Science degree, introductory stuff.

I could believe something today can pass the The Turing Test as that's just getting language context correctly, but I wouldn't call it true AI.

Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lu56xVlZ40M

Check out this video. The AI devises a brand new tactic without any input or even knowledge it could do that.
Is this sentience? No, just it logically finding it out and as its not breaking the rules its given, it can be used.

Only way is to taste it. I'm veggie, not vegan, and get a load of vegan stuff, but never tasted that one so cant recommend.
Was given a vegan cheese spread as a gift at xmas and it tasted as if you could eat plastic.

42 kids could definitely take on 2 bears, definitely get one down.

And unless they were old fashion Duggars, 42 kids would be at least 6+ families, upto 42 max possible.
So all these families would be nearby obviously, kids travel on foot wouldnt be far.
So eventually would come along and see 42 corpses all in close proximity, wondering what the hosed happened. Hellraiser 4000BC
So it would be the local talk for years, how a near full local generation got wiped out and no one knows what happened.
The rest grow up with this tragic story, passed on.
Then some rear end in a top hat preacher comes along, and tells them the story of how 42 kids made an old man feel sad so had to die.

Last night a friend got scammed out of their 50k of savings, goddamn :stare:

I don't yet know how it went down but it started with one of those "pay 1.50 for redelivery" text messages (rookie error) and then they immediately got a call from the fraud department at their bank... except it wasn't the bank, it was the scammer, spoofing the bank's number. And somehow they could confirm recent transactions on the account so it seemed legit (not sure how... malware on phone perhaps? Insidious)

The scammer said they'd opened a new account to protect their money and convinced them to transfer all their savings over to it. They called their bank soon after and, yep, all a scam. And they've had loans taken out in their name too so must have given away a lot of personal data :stare:

Absolute nightmare

Sorry to hear that, loving sucks. Surprised the bank cant get it back.

As for education, I would consider myself tech savvy, and I would have probably fell for it with an amazon item that was delivered to our house a few months ago.
Got the same message, but it was signed 'Simon' and not Post Office or such.
Most people would think including myself at the start 'well there was a package that wasnt delivered, how could a scammer know that so it must be legit'.

For vampires you just ask them "if a bolt of cloth sells for two guineas, how many crowns does a rod sell for?" and watch them go insane.

Did a google. Peter Cushing melted silver into a bullet in a Hammer horror movie with main baddy being a vampire. Apparently thats the first mention of it.
However silver backed mirrors don't show them in the reflection.
Fun fact, mirrors these days don't use silver any more, so vampires could see themselves in them.
