i watched elemental on disney because my better 3/4's really wanted to, the visuals were jaw dropping but the story was a wet fart. it's basically romeo & juliet but racist this time apparently? crossed with a generic child of immigrant family feels pressured to continue the family business trope. it wasn't bad, but it wasn't.. good? i guess. i rate it 6.5 chill cattes out of 10

Well my wife and I went to watch The Boy and The Heron from Ghibli at the local theatre yesterday and it was pretty cool!! Some people are saying it's Miyazaki's best, personally I don't think I agree with that but it's definitely top five-ish. The inspirations from Japanese folklore is pretty neat.

i haven't seen every ghibli but i'd say it's the second best i've seen with spirited away being the first, really loved it

i'm also glad they barely revealed any info about the movie since going in with 0 expectations made it way better

Nausicaä, spirited away, Princess Mononoke, and Howls Moving castle are probably all slightly ahead of it for me personally. I think it was just slightly too disjointed and the ending came on waaay too fast for my tastes.
