John Starfield lands on a barren moon. There's nothing here except for maybe a few mineral deposits he can utilize for his next weapon mod. What's that in the distance? It looks like a man leaning against a boulder. No way. It can't be. He rushes over and discovers a skeleton in a space suit. He's holding a letter for some reason. John reads it and realizes it's directions to a hidden treasure right here on this very moon. He finds the treasure. It's a rusty pistol and two space coins.

the reward is in the finding

Yeah.

Basically the way it works is that every character now has a set of 'hp'. You're given the choice between a variety of different options that 'reduce' that HP, ranked from green to red. Green do the least damage but have the highest chance of success, red are vice-versa. You have 3 'turns' to defeat the enemy but if you succeed on your third turn then you can keep going until you fail. Most of the time these are basically random lines of dialogue but occasionally you can get special auto-win ones from other events/logs/etc. You also can fill up a bar that lets you auto-win one persuasion that you can hold on to.

wtf they stole the conversation system from highfleet????

Tho ngl, that's kind of Thief in a nutshell, all of them have missions that are despised by fans. Thi4f was just utter pap.

theyd developed some kind of engine that had rudimentary rag doll physics and dynamic for t3 and dx, but they released it the same year as doom 3 and half life 2 lol. just bodied

Yeah, I'm not comparing it gameplay-wise, because they're two completely different types of RPG. I mean from a basic storytelling standpoint, from the start nothing is making any sense and it's very Crappy RPG Story.

yeah honestly having your main character touch a magic stone that gives them prophetic but confusing visions, that they then have to undertake a journey traversing the galaxy to solve is a dumb idea for the premise of a video game

selected the mortgage perk, flew to my house as soon as possible. set up a little temporary campsite in the house with a couple of sleeping bags, a workstation and research bench until i have more materials to decorate it. on my way in i saw a ridge i wanted to climb, so i go to sleep just before dawn. climbing the ridge is work, but i finally get to the top just as the sun rises over the scrubby forest punctuated by ridges that stretches out in every direction. i set up a beacon at the top of the ridge and a glass observation station. i set up some resource extraction and then set off to investigate a couple of windmills i saw on my hike up

windmills were a bust, led to a methane piping station but not much stuff there beyond a few crafting materials. oh well, can't expect to find glittering treasure behind every corner. i take off into orbit around the planet, only to find a space station. i try to hail it but unsuccessfully. intrigued i board, and find that it's an abandoned zero-g casino, full of, ugh, spacers. they're a bit above my level but with some creative maneuvering and a laser rifle i pick up off of one of them, i manage to take them down and find a slate pointing to a cache somewhere else in space. after i do some shopping and check out that history museum i've heard so much about, i'm heading there next

then i gently caress up and jump not to jamison but back to that hosed up cursed rock kurtz. immediately, two bounty hunters (from the other perk i took) jump in and shake me down. i tell them to gently caress off, i have way more than 2 grand lmao. anyway they completely waste me so i reload. i pay them the two grand, like a nerd, and they warp off but not before telling me that they're lining up to spank my rear end over at bounty hunter high school.

i havent been trying too hard to cap any ships so ive found the classic lasers for shields then hitting them with missiles strat works in this game too. ive completely taken ballistics off

is there a weapon class dedicated to disabling subsystems?
