Some fish is a lot sweeter than I'd expect it to be, I wonder if some fish would take well to being made into desert-type things.

But not just putting a scoop of ice cream into a fried fish sandwich with a slice of cheese.

Not having the right immigrants is bad for trying to do the ethnic cuisine, but having a food culture that is so arrogant and self-confident about whatever it does is worse.

The specific idea John Harvey Kellogg had was that cereal needed to be as bland as possible to avoid inflaming people's passions, and that's what he served at his sanitarium. Grape Nuts were developed by a guy who had a stay at the sanitarium and decided he liked the cereal but it could be use some flavor, Charles William Post.

John Harvey Kellogg's brother, William Kieth Kellogg, was the guy who started the Kellogg's cereal company, and the brothers had a falling out over all the extra sugar and flavor added to the cereal as well as William Kieth Kellogg's financial success.

Foreign fast food chains that aren't Burger King or McDonalds have a hard time establishing themselves in the Nordics. Pizza Hut for example tried in 2000 and lost millions.

Sweden needs a Gorbachev to bring it midgrade american pizza chains.

Although they do have Dominos, so it's probably more Pizza Hut being lame. Dominos is selling this abomination on Sweden's behalf.

I did look at the rest of the menu, and it all looks like it'd be good eating, but I did think it was funny that the Italiana pizza has cream cheese and the New York pizza is some weird thing I doubt NYC has ever done (cheddar, bacon, beef). But I'd still eat them.

for half a moment I assumed the problem was she put the egg in before flipping the steak and it'd overcook the egg, and was ready to go 'oh come on she hosed timing up but that's a probably perfectly fine way to do a steak and eggs meal in a cute way'.

Aside from the other aspects that a more fancy cook would take offense at, I think a bigger issue is that steak is more valuable per-weight so just removing a chunk is more of a loss. It's not like bread. You could probably work open a hole for an egg without removing a piece.

I don't ever want to have anything to do with flamin hot cheetos.

Although this is kind of the inverse because it looks like something I'd want to eat if was actually food. And then there's this that actually looks pretty appetizing.

Technically you can eat bacon "raw" since it's already been cured. It's just much nicer to eat when it's cooked and hard and crispy, and the heat brings out its flavors.

Conversely, you could also boil jerky if you want it to be softer, or just soak it. But that's more necessary for old-fashioned salt-preserved foods that are classically too impossibly salty to eat without getting rid of the salt first.
