This is really pretty. Andy Timmons on TPS playing through a couple Mesa Lone Stars and demoing his pedals. I've set the video to start when Andy begins playing a piece, and it's fun because the TPS guys get emotional. The video is really sweet because there is clearly a sincere musical connection and friendship going on here. What you won't be able to tell from the video right away is they're running the amps into that 2x12 cab loaded with EVs, and it's cranked pretty loud.

John Cordy saw this clip and decided to learn the little piece and to make a video to teach how to play it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89ChtqEiGCw

It's not difficult at all, and it's not particularly bad rear end. It's just very sweet and simple and I thought it deserved to be shared.

That Ibanez is gorgeous.

Also I liked your Eddie stuff the other day.

Is a Fender Strat a good babby's first guitar, or is it worth it to start on a Squire model instead?

It's a higher price but you'll get more money out if you do decide to sell.

The squiers can be very good. I also have a cv tele in blonde and there isn't anything wrong with it that I didn't do.

edit: I barely play but strats rule.

I had just the headphone amp(Prime P1), it was not very good. The software interface is terrible, and you really need it because the presets are terrible. It also sounds like a cheap headphone amp. Better as a multi-effect into an amp, but you need to use the app to turn off the amp and cab modeling for that to sound good. It also was in a cheap plastic housing. And a really bad manual, so I ended up spending a bunch if time trying to figure out what did what.

For $150 by itself, really not worth it. At the ~$125 price it shows up for it's better, but I'd spend the money on another Mustang Micro. Not as tweakable, but sounds great out of the box and barely needs a manual.

Boo to that, but someone's going to get it right so that's still exciting. Those Mooer/Joyo/Donner guys are trying a lot of stuff.

What was wrong with mine is it was a 6-point MIM trem and no matter how much time you spend trying to get the screws perfectly even and balance the tension with the claw, it just wouldn't friggin' work, ALWAYS come back slightly different after usage. That's after installing locking tuners, changing the nut for a very well-cut one set up for the string gauge in use, replacing the bridge saddles, and every drat else thing I could think to do. So I finally blocked it after more than 15 years of putting up with its poo poo. Still love that guitar :)

I've had three different trem bridge equipped guitars that I had no problem getting to stay in tune. One was a Kahler on an '80s Jackson, one was a Fender System 2 on a MIJ strat, and most recently (and one I still have and use regularly) is this Charvel with a Floyd Rose in it. All of those worked great, no issues, great tuning stability - the Floyd Rose is my favorite among them, just Works and stays in tune forever.

A while back I picked up a cheap Behringer UM2 USB audio interface to use with the NeuralDSP sims I had. One limitation that is bugging me, though, is that the NeuralDSP plugins take exclusive control of the audio due to ASIO4ALL (Behringer uses this instead of its own drivers). I'd really like to be able to play along with songs/backing tracks on my PC.

Is there something I can do hardware-wise other than buying a new audio interface with better drivers? (Was looking at a Scarlett Solo.) It seems like a shame because there's nothing wrong with the UM2 - but it wouldn't be the end of the world since it was only $39. I've seen people mentioning a mixer but I'm hesitant to add another thing to the chain and my desk is already full of poo poo as it is, haha.

Does the NeuralDSP stuff offer VSTs or whatever?

If you have a humbucker guitar that is just slightly too dark/muddy sounding with your setup try a klon
