(I definitely don't mind the metacommentary. I am rolling the dice and deciding the modifiers as I go along, and I will post HC's sheet in the OP as soon as I get around to converting it from Chummer! Suffice to say HC is extremely jacked up in close and ranged combat and tactical skills, as well as related weapon specialist stuff like pilot (he flew helicopters for the Sec Corp), survival (militia background) and some others Please keep voting, update may be up by tomorrow)

A couple of the younger protestors around the the downed and now cuffed gatecrashers have started scuffling with your sec team and shouting anti-police slogans, probably mistaking you for bacon. The volunteer security is remarkably good at verbal deescalation, but the scuffling persists. Still, it hasn’t rippled into the rally at large, but this will easily happen unless you do something. Is your first reaction to.. A) Tell Carbonelli over wireless to address the crowd, saying the two are cops or saboteurs? B) Address the protestors in a coinciliatory manner, explaining they are provocateurs and needs taking out of the protest to keep Louisa safe? C) Take off the gloves and physically deter any protesters who might mistakenly take the side of the two assailants? ((still presenting choices largely without comment. I will say that our Charisma is definitely our lowest stat and that our highest socials revolve around bargaining and intimidation, not public speaking or charm. Please remain calm, we are here for the sake of the squatters, people.” Some unrest, the more rowdy participants form off in smaller groups looking for more “cops and fash” to tangle with, but you figure they’ll either get bored or find their match somewhere else. You are in no way hired to protect them, and so return to keeping a birds-eye view. Another incident is brewing! Camera one picks up a group of what clearly looks like feral ghouls or ghoul squatters, few decaying clothes sticking to their warped, scaly backs and vacant, milky eyes. Some carry gnarly clubs of wood and bone, others simple shivs. They are entering the plaza from within the Market building with a confident, gliding gait - but then, they are probably more animal than men at this point. Estimate: 7 members in the group, and counting.. Do you: A) Devote your entire team to crushing them with ranged firepower. A group of ghouls this big will cause an instant rout, with more casualties than you are willing to risk. B) Chuck tear gas canisters in the area between the plaza and the mall, getting the animalistic ghouls to flee as their senses are overloaded. C) Tell Louisa to call off the rally, and evacuate her under covering fire as the ghouls do whatever they intend to do with the crowd. D) Something else?

Good thing your mic wasn’t keyed in. You put on your Ares Gasguard. It’s the only respirator that really takes the sting of cutting edge riot agents, in your opinion, not that this is the stuff. Still, these “tearjerker”-brand OTC grenades held 3/10s of good old CS and ought to do the trick. Sparing a look at your Overlord TacSoft program, you note that prevailing winds are too weak to affect smoke or heavier gases, and let rip. You tug both security splits out with one hand - showing the ease of practice, and throw them one after the other to cover the entire intersection of doorpath and plaza. They blow, and the ghouls step back in confusion. As the agent starts to attack their mucous membranes and eyes, some clear off as you predicted. However, several more put on gas masks! This isn’t how it’s supposed to go. They’re animals! The ghouls sneer, produce more melee weapons, and walk through the crowd. The less hard-bitten protesters start to scream and break up at the grenades and commotion. You have seconds to react. Do you.. A) Ask MojoPez to scan the “ghouls” to determine what the hell is going on. It’s losing time, sure, but the wrong counter will do more harm than good at this juncture. B) Go lethal. They had their chance to play, and a full auto burst will let them know you mean business. C) Same, but with kinetic gel rounds. No matter what kind of ghouls they are, nothing can get hit with enough gel and stay up, and the optics are better. D) Position yourself between the ghouls and the crowd, gun drawn and use the drone speakers to tell them to frag off. Probably the highest risk-to-reward gamble. The ghouls of the Meat Market are pretty tough customers, but you may give them the idea that a full Sec detachment is behind them. After all, who'd be dumb enough to guard a politician in the slums with just a couple of Shadowrunners?

C + A — get MojoPez scanning while we react and the gel is flying. Gel is a good first reaction but more information will let us react better to a fast-evolving situation, and maybe give Louisa something to use in managing the crowd reactions and giving them a calm, clear-sighted leader.

She is definitely on the red, rad-group side of things where ghouls (and other parabiological phenomenons) should have equal rights - but right now she's advocating for the squatters, and arguing that they shouldn't be unprotected to the degree where ghoul groups can prey on them. C. let's not go lethal immediately, it'll be startling enough when the noise from the tear jerkers is followed by gunshots. We can still escalate if things go sideways. If this is a distraction, physical security (us) is going to need a fair bit of overwatch. Pulling drones into speaker mode is leaving us blind.
