This is an interesting one, the 'double L' is in a few Romance languages. I pronounce it like a Y, but it's not the same as a Y, you can feel the tongue doin' some weird stuff near the back, and I can totally understand how it's still an L sound. If I had two brain cells to rub together, I should have gotten into linguistics. It's fascinating, and a lot of counter-intuitive pronunciation stuff just makes sense to me.
