In my opinion D&D's ever-expanding rule list and routine probes-without-warnings absolutely stifle discussion and I no longer have any interest in posting in what (years ago) used to be my favorite subforum. Now I just keep up with a few interesting/amusing threads and do my posting in subforums that don't make me feel like my boss is watching over my shoulder the entire time. The "rival subforum" has its own problems to be sure, but I can chill out and fire off a few posts in there without needing Employee Refresher Training first. In my opinion a mix of shitposting and quality posting that is lightly moderated (as long as you don't cross the bright lines) is a core part of the SA experience. But what do I know, I've only been here for 20+ years. FistEnergy fucked around with this message at 16:39 on Jul 31, 2022 |

Harold Fjord posted:A lot of D&D threads are pretty much going dark. No climate news gets posted in climate change yet there's lots of it every day. The Biosphere Collapse thread in cspam is consistently one of the best threads on the forums, check it out if you haven't. It's dark and super pessimistic, which is the sober and honest way to be at this point.

Yeowch!!! My Balls!!! posted:assuming they're doing it just to make you feel bad strikes me as a bit of a stretch, tbh yeah, it was not my first post in this thread so it wasn't a cspam drive-by. I was replying to a particular poster looking for climate change content on the forums with more than a handful of replies a day. Not intended to derail anything. RealityWarCriminal posted:B. Assume good faith. If you strongly suspect someone is operating in bad faith, report them rather than attempting to call them out in the thread. This avoids false positives where a poster is operating in good faith and forced to defend themselves. Hey that's a good rule!
