When I was 17, my father was so stupid, I didn't want to be seen with him in public. When I was 24, I was amazed at how much the old man had learned in just 7 years.
So glad I looked at the sticky and clicked to this thread. I envy your adventure, this all looks so fun! Also bonus TownAce spotted. E: or maybe a different type of Toyota minivan? I often confuse them, despite it being my favorite car as of six months ago.

I've always wanted one. Small funfact here, if covid and 2020 didn't happen I was kinda planning to sell the truck or trade it for a 4wd toyota van/hiace/delica star wagon.

Yeah so Evergreen is pretty awesome. I skipped the water park for obvious reasons. You must go and see for yourself. This is in the like top three of air museums I've been to.
They'll even let you camp in the parkinglot provided your poo poo leaks less than theirs.
I've just under a thousand photos, a highlights album is here.

Yeah they're nifty little vehicles. I won't let the haters complain they can't go above 45 mph dissuade me if I ever can afford one, I can get anywhere I need to go on back roads. And another good one in the latest post.

Also love the Evergreen picks! You should check out the Pima Air and Space Museum outside of Tucson if you haven't yet, and maybe even set up a tour of the boneyards. Both are good.

Fun to see you in places familiar to me. I was actually considering doing a night of car camping on the test range just after Christmas but wasn't super feeling it when the day to do it came. It is funny to read the reviews of the camp sites there, they're either peaceful getaways or migrant gang war corridors depending on the reviews.

Your Beaumont visit from last page, I was thinking "oh, I saw a youtube where someone visited a mine in that area" and then you ended up there, cool. Also, Tahoe looks amazing. There's so many good things in Northern California away from the bustle.

I'm extremely fascinated by the trekking around southern Nevada/northern Arizona earlier in the thread and enjoy your time there. I do wonder if the 11 is going to change much. I live near the 19 and routinely drove on the 8 for work just having a freeway doesn't magically create business in desolate areas. The 8 especially is full of completely abandoned truck stops and hotels and I think this is gonna be the fate of the stuff they build around the 11, and I think the portion south of Phoenix will never come.

I do think it's weird how little public camping there is around Kingman. I guess they expect everyone to just continue on to the Grand Canyon.
