I'm really disappointed that they didn't bother to come up with another cool title sequence. It also seems kind of a waste to hire Ramin Djawadi only to make him do the same score again.

Spending time on Minas Tirith makes sense because that's where the majority of the movie is going to happen. And once you go down this rabbit hole, where does it stop? Should Jackson have added shots of the sewer system? A city that big is gonna need that after all. What about livestock? Smithies? The kitchens that somehow have access to cherry tomatoes?
