Even if every Rogue secret was legal and Shadowjewler Hanar was in the Core, Halkias is still just a 5/4 with Stealth. Having one of those forever is nice but any games that he would win you could be more easily won with a large selection of other cards.

The only nice thing, for me, is that because I didn't touch Battlegrounds immediately after the update (since it sounded bad) when I had a 'Use Your Hero Power' weekly this morning and jumped in to complete it, my rating was literally 0 and at this point everybody who cares even a little has left those ranks so I had an easy time surviving to 1st or 2nd place each game in order to maximize my hero power usage.

I won on the first try with Warlock because I drew Nozdormu on curve and also got a board clear for free. The Warlock deck is not great with a lot of demon boosters but comparatively few actual demons.

The fact that they keep trying to make Secret Rogue work is so confusing. Rogue is almost a 100% tempo based class and secrets, almost by definition, are purely reactive cards. It would be like giving Hunter a bunch of armor gain.

I think my problem with current Hunter is that it is one of those decks that is just generally good and has a bunch of different paths to victory so... from my perspective... it doesn't really feel like you're doing anything. Just playing good cards as you draw them and seeing how you win.

Theotar's effect is good and I think it is good to have around but I think that at 4-mana he's just in literally every deck and that isn't particularly good for the format. Bump him to 6- or 7- like Mutanus and he still accomplishes his disruption against Denathrius without being an auto-include.

Tavern Brawl this week is a Standard version of Fury of Kael'Thas so it probably won't be 100% Druids by 12:00pm on Wednesday. Every third spell you cast costs 0. I won on the first try by just throwing out Rune of the Archmage and praising Yogg. Drakefire Amulet is also probably solid. The person I was playing against was trying a Naga Priest thing which would probably also work reasonably well.

You only get one reward for the highest rank you've reached among all the ladders.

I also barely play ladder (usually just five games a week for the quest) but my experience recently has been that, at low ranks, it is hard to lose while playing aggressive druid. It is very cheap with nothing but common and rare cards in this build. Vicious Syndicate is my usual go to for meta analysis if you wanted to try to more seriously climb.

Cabalist's Tome saw play during Whispers of the Old Gods and it was 5-mana, get 3 random Mage spells. Sunwell feels like a card that you'll be able to use in a control deck where you'll occasionally have turns where you don't need to do anything in particular and can just add a bunch of value to your hand.

(But there's also a chance you'll get four copies of Glacial Mysteries.)

That's right. Core is its own thing independent of your collection; if you own Bolf Ramshield, dust him now and then he's added to next year's Core, you'll get a new one with the set launch.

Oh wow, I hadn't realized that they were going to charge for it. How is that even supposed to work? From a gameplay perspective it seems unusual at best to lock the Core cards for theoretically one and only one of the main playable classes behind a paywall.

Apparently it is included in the Mega Bundle so I got it but I don't think everybody in the game should be expected to shell out $80.

I think I only rolled the 'Friendly Challenge' quest once in all of Nathria so I'm a little bit bummed. It would have been nice to save one up for the new launch. Does the '7-wins' quest still exist? I remember back in the day that was the most valuable daily but I assume the change to XP got rid of it.

As the Hearthstone grog who was posting earlier about the halcyon days of Savannah Highmane, I personally feel like 10 Armor, a 2/4 and a 5/5 body and 32 banked damage is probably a bit much for 8 mana but that's just me.

Why would you quit out? Start a fight, fold your laundry, come back 29-ish minutes later and hit hit the 'Fight!' button. You'll very slowly accumulate coins to max out your mercenaries at the same time.

When they launched Mercenaries mode, Kripp spent a week or so playing around with PvE mode and then a single night trying to actually play Mercenaries before abandoning it forever just like every sensible person. Never play Mercenaries.
