my macbook m1 so far runs everything ive put on it (i guess the big ones are bg3 and tw3) at max settings with no problem like i didnt even buy it for gaming but lol drat. wtf. cant wait for the m1 native no man's sky later this year sorry if this is controversial please let's try to keep our emotions in check while we discuss the death of pc gaming edit: i am sorry, but by tw3 i mean total war warhammer 3. i hosed up ok

macs kinda suck at gaming, except for one thing, which is playing indie games in bed or on the couch. the m1 macs are the perfect thing for that because they don't get uncomfortably hot or sound like a hair dryer due to fan noise. phones or tablets can also do the same, but touch screens are terrible for most types of games. a keyboard and trackpad is much better. (unless it's a dell trackpad, which goddamn, how do these still suck so bad?) i basically gave up on playing even simple indie games on my last dell and intel macbook just because it was so uncomfortable. even simple 2D adventure games would cause the fans to spin up after a few minutes. i sold my intel macbook and got an m1 this year, and it's so much nicer to use for that reason alone.

but nowadays they also can do good graphics. i dont know how but they do it was almost surreal when i put max settings for tw3 and everything ran smoothly. completely unexpected

i wish apple gave a poo poo about macs though. mac OS totally feels like iphone OS's red headed stepchild at this point, it's jank as hell and every app that apple has made in the past several years has been some poo poo rear end swift ui cross platform thing because they can't be bothered to use cocoa any more

like ok so youre a game developer. you love bill gates and give money to the bill and melinda gates foundation so that their friends can receive huge paychecks while they coerce developing countries into combatting diseases that pose a relatively small public health risk while pushing strict IP protections that force less wealthy countries to buy costly name brand pharmeceuticals despite the possibility of generic alternatives. and youre testing a new game and having to try out a billion configurations for PC kramers whereas with mac you just gotta deal with one architecture, and there is an integrated graphics chip (which is good!? i think)
