Well don't you know I'm caught in a trap?

Soylent Pudding posted:

The moderna boosters felt like a planet fell on me. My sister, uncle, and others on my mom's side also got knocked out for ~36 hours from it. Meanwhile cousins on my dad's side got the moderna booster and barely noticed.

The first booster hosed me up so bad, 103 degree fever, literally could not move from my bed, wracking chills despite both heaters in my room blasting, followed by sweat soaked sheets and hyperthermia. gently caress that sucked.

My second booster (3rd total and last) was pretty "meh" felt a bit crummy, tiniest fever, nothing awful.

Probably not. Wouldn't Snowden and or Reality Winner (lmao at that name) be a larger spillage?

Depending on its content, it could arguably be the worst loss of classified material since Aldrich Ames or Robert Hannson. Potentially the worst ever.

I think there's a good chance that this beats those two in terms of severity, if not shear quantity.

No poo poo, the running joke is "how would we be able to tell if we have a virus, because there's no way it could possibly make these computers run even worse than they already do". Taking 30+ minutes just to log on and try to open an email.

A friend I haven't spoken with in years asked me today what my favorite things about being a civilian are, I forgot to list this.

My work laptop now is loaded to the gills with security poo poo, and I'm still logged on, connected via secure VPN reading my email in <5 minutes, it's about 1 minute if I'm on the secure network at work. Also IT fixes my loving computer if I ask them to instead of saying "it still turns on, doesn't it?" Like the ITS on the ship.

My first boat had these little palm-pilot things for us to take logs on, besides being glitchy awful pieces of poo poo in general, McAfee would boot up at midnight +/- 15 minutes, and if you were taking logs it would just delete the whole logset unrecoverably.

Man way to tighten my nuts early in the morning.

Lol, it was a lenticular cloud forming.

E: a common phenomenon in the summer, it's water from snow melt evaporating, it's very pretty on my drive in to work.

A Podcaster I listen to got in touch with them, they'll answer questions if you're polite.

I have a soft spot for Heaven's Gate, being one of the few cults that wasn't entirely based on the leader wanting to gently caress a whole bunch of (usually underage) women.

Pretty sure the military sticks you for literally everything imaginable including polio if you hadn't already had it as a child.

The Navy (at least circa 2010) ignores vaccination records and does an antibody test then jabs you for anything you don't have antibodies for, for example I had chicken pox as a kid, but they still jabbed me for it based on my antibodies being below the threshold.

Yeah that’s for the head of states of Tuvalu and Kyrgistan, Joe’s flying Air Force One into a military airfield and flying Marine One to his motorcade.

He might make a good showing of it and fly into a military airfield and take The Beast from there.

Secret Service won't sit still for it. The route is totally predictable and even they probably can't guard every bridge it would cross for the amount of time they'd need to keep people away from them. Plus the disruption to freight schedules over any distance would be insane.

Oddly I'd imagine it'd be the Navy taking POTUS by rail, escorted by this thing.

Interesting. I always kind of wondered about that, because I know ICBMs must move around on rails at times (for maintenance or being reloaded or used for a test). I’ve seen the videos of the road transfers, but I’ve always been wondering about rail ones ever since I saw the Godzilla 2014 movie (yes I’m a dork, but Godzilla owns).

Admittedly I’m sure anyone who wants to gently caress with a US nuke transport will die very quickly and badly.

ICBM bodies are transported separately from their warheads, which go on this thing which has had some really bad mishaps! It's also chock full of top-secret security features.

The company I work for just hired a few ex Navy and AF people who worked on NKO and whatever the AF equivalent is to make our CBTs.

RIP my job.

How about we throw DeSantis into a loving hurricane and then deal with all the damage?
