Former American Spy Jonathan Pollard Withdraws Ayelet Shaked Endorsement
Former Jewish American spy Jonathan Pollard withdrew his endorsement of Ayelet Shaked, the chairwoman of the right-wing Zionist Spirit party, on Tuesday evening, less than a day after declaring that the former Justice and Interior Minister would “safeguard both our core interests and our honor.”
In a statement to the right-wing Arutz Sheva news site, Pollard explained that “after the things I said regarding Ayelet Shaked this morning, it became clear to me that she refuses to remove Yoaz Handel from her list and to commit that she will only join a right-wing government. This raises a real concern that she will once again transfer votes from the right to the left. Therefore, I retract my support for her.”
In response to Pollard’s retraction, Shaked stated that the “poison machine that was directed at him from the moment he announced his support for me put Jonathan in an impossible situation and I am glad that he got himself out of the eye of the storm. For a "hero of Israel" like Pollard "deserves to be at the heart of the consensus and not become a target in the toxic discourse of Israeli politics.”

The suit, filed in United States District Court for the District of Columbia on August 23, claims that Cohen and Arnal provided "materially false statements regarding the financial condition and holding situation" of Bed Bath & Beyond for their financial benefit. The lead plaintiff is investor Pengcheng Si.
"The defendants, knowing that the information they disclosed was false, took advantage of the inflated stock price and used fraudulent and misleading SEC filings to sell all their [Bed Bath & Beyond] shares and options at artificially inflated prices to unsuspecting and innocent public investors and then retained control of the profits," the suit states.

Speaking of COVID, I missed this earlier:
“On September 1, 2022, CDC recommended updated COVID-19 boosters from Pfizer-BioNTech for people ages 12 years and older and from Moderna for people ages 18 years and older.”
Their announcement phrased is in a real dipshit passive-voice referential way:

They could have just said something like, “The CDC approved a new booster on September 1st and recommends that everyone get it.”

they had the keys to the kingdom laying around for any employee or compromised account on their intranet who searched for them. it's a hilariously low bar for total compromise of all accounts and services.
I have to suspect this random 18-year-old is probably not the first actor down this path of criminally bad security. Just that any one doing state security or corporate espionage to track the activity of targeted Uber users isn't going to go out and helicopter their wang on the internet for cred.

The Kyrgyz health ministry later said 24 citizens had been killed and 87 wounded, Russia's Interfax news agency said. It did not say how many of the victims were from the military.
Both of these countries are part of the CSTO and SCO and still manage to lob artillery at each other.

The Air Force and Space Force are now offering a second chance to applicants who test positive for the high-inducing chemical tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) during their entrance physical.
The temporary policy change marks an attempt to rethink an aspect of the Air Force’s stringent ban on marijuana use as the service struggles to meet its recruiting goals.
“Previously, a positive THC result on the initial test would have led to a permanent bar from entry into the [Air Force or Space Force],” Air Force spokesperson Ann Stefanek said. “The pilot program offers some prospective applicants an opportunity to retest after 90 days if they are granted a waiver.”
To earn a waiver, applicants must score at least 50 points on the Armed Forces Qualification Test, have no felony or misdemeanor convictions, possess a high school diploma and be otherwise medically qualified for service. They must meet all other qualification standards as well.
“If those who have been granted a waiver pass a second test, candidates will be allowed to enlist,” Stefanek said.
