Great OP BP

Not sure what to do right now, maybe by TLOP1 but maybe not. Currently stumbling my way around DS2 DLC, realized I never played them before. Crown of the Sunken King has a totally backwards way to get into it and its full of traps. Whats with all these "elevators" that just trap you at the bottom and you gotta kill yourself and never get your souls back. Seems like a design decision I haven't seen in FROM games before?

Some new footage of Wo Long(looks amazing), there is a character creator and there seems to be personal pronouns? Some chud will get mad this because it's not historically accurate Three Kingdoms in a game where you are literally shooting lighting spells out of your fingertips.

Now that there are difficulty levels, is the default still the hard one? I want to play it the original way

Club was harder, but I got through it now. The avoid mechanic is good is boss fights but sucks rear end when you are surrounded by 1-3 mooks. Onto level 3!

Finally got a chance to play again and Im at level 4 (the tower) on Sifu, at age..... 38? Got to the boss of the tower on the first try but gently caress I got destroyed. I still feel like sometimes I do the right dodge though and it doesn't work. I'll go left instead of lift my legs etc. Very finicky.

I dont know if my left stick is messed up or what but I try to dodge in Sifu and supposed I dodge right, right right, sometimes I duck sometimes I hop, and sometimes I dodge right. Anyone else experience this? or is this my stick

acksplode posted:

Are you mixing up dodge and avoid? Duck/hop is avoid (L1 plus stick down for avoiding low attacks, or stick in any other direction for avoiding high attacks) and dashing in a direction is dodge (R2 plus stick in direction). You want to mostly use avoid. Dodge is for getting out of the way of unavoidable grabs, or quickly repositioning yourself

Sorry I meant avoid. Holding L1+left stick pointing right.

Sometimes I duck sometimes I hop over a leg sweep sometimes I avoid correctly. Gotta be a stick issue right? It’s not that finicky ?

acksplode posted:

There are only two avoid moves, L1+down for avoiding low attacks, and L1+(up or left or right) for avoiding mid/high attacks. My guess is that when you do L1+right you're occasionally accidentally doing L1+down and getting the hop, and occasionally getting the input right but doing it early and getting the default duck motion. My advice is to only do L1+up or L1+down to minimize risk of doing the wrong thing. You don't need to do L1+right, it's the same exact thing as L1+up.

the top down vertical strikes you can avoid with L1+Up? I thought you needed to go Left or Right to avoid those.

Nice to be at the Sanctuary at age 35 to start though

Ah got it. I haven't really parried since the club, all avoid.

I got him to his second phase with just avoiding so hopefully this helps

and yes the artists first phase is brutal. 6 move combos with both high and low avoids are tooough

Forgive me, I will be honest I haven't paid much attention to the steam deck. Let me try again: a base steam deck is four hundo plus microsd at the very cheapest you can possibly obtain one and a base switch (which we will assume is a lite) is a buck fifty all day long. You can often obtain them cheaper, if all that matters is that you get to play the games. An OLED switch is, what, three-fifty new and you can just go buy one right now. The microSD cancels out, really, so you don't have to worry hard there. I can't imagine getting a switch and living with the 32GB on-board.

This isn't exactly a "A 944 will cost you seven grand" kind of situation. Calling the two a similar price point is a lazy and unfair comparison and I have to admit I really would like to think better of mono. I mean, maybe ya'll in a way different tax bracket than me where dropping a six hundo is an appropriate apology and not the kind of expense you have to plan months in advance for. If that's the case, great! But that line of thinking doesn't really apply to a ton of people, haha, so I wonder what the value of sharing it is.

You just made up numbers. Show me a link to a brand new switch of any kind from a retailer at 150 ? Give it up.
