Book had power armor, movie didn’t. Just saying. Also the book made it clear that while service guaranteed citizenship, you didn’t have to do military service - the government had to provide you with an opportunity to serve somehow, even if you were disabled or whatever. It’s an interesting book, even if the premise is pretty dystopian and I don’t agree with the perspective of the author, but it’s a completely different work from the movie, which is much more satirical.
