It didn’t work the first time I tried resubbing. I did the three month pc game pass trial, and when that was up it wanted me pay the full amount to renew. A while later I realized there was a separate trial for gp ultimate, and after that was up it let me renew pc gamepass for a dollar, two months in a row now. I don’t know if doing the ultimate trial mattered, or if it’s just random.

One of my favorite Ratchet and Clank weapons, the Plasma Whip (my memory might be failing me, but I think it looked better in the PS2 original, this is the PS3 remaster emulated. the porting team were a little sloppy with some of the graphical details. could also be that the effect looked better at lower res.) It's the thing that made me acutely aware of frame rate before I even knew what it was, because the whip would almost always bring down the fps to 30.

The environment is reduced to window dressing for chasing icons.

Max is basically in hell and there's no escape. And they doubled down on that in the story. Not a happy ending. Regardless of any issues I had with it, it's such a beautiful game.

Giant Robo is good yeah, I watched it ten or so years ago. Outlaw Star I’ll eventually get to. I checked it out some time after seeing Cowboy Bebop, hungry for more, and was disappointed by it not being as grounded. Not a fair comparison, so I’ll give it a fair shake some day.
