No character can drink from an obviously empty cup, mug, beer flagon or other drinking vessel. No immediately drinking a hot beverage that's just been made. They did the same thing in Corsage, except for the literal first moving images which were shown in widescreen 35mm with a jerky handcranked(?) effect added.
