It's probably not going to be as strong, but yeah. Would not be surprised if more characters with kits broadly similar to existing characters, just tweaked to suit a different role, start showing up.

Yeah, it's like a Reaper wraith form but with a windup and a damage at the end. Clearly meant to be an engage tool rather than an escape tool. Hot take: Reaper should have wall climb in wraith form.

Venture is fun. Left click kind of works like rammatra punch, very short range but very powerful, the right click is a combination escape/fatality kill chase job like doomfists punch.

I haven't tried the hero or watched much, but abilities like Rammatra punch are what most of us would probably like LESS of in the game. Clicking and auto dealing damage without having to aim or be touching the other person (actual melee range) are not good in FPS or pseudo-FPS games. But like I said, I might just be misinterpreting this as I haven't tried out the character yet. I don't see myself bothering until we are past the point where every game has someone on both teams that tries to insta-lock the hero.

Aus queues have been messed up for DPS and even support since Venture dropped. Had an 8 minute wait when queued as DPS/Support before. Eventually just queued Support and still had 5+ mins with priority! Tank was near instant but playing tank when all the children are on the first day of holidays just suuuuuuuucks. So yeah, no chance to actually evaluate how they will play in a "real" match.

I don't think it's reasonable to say ramms punch is just click and auto damage, it certainly is not the same as a long range projectile or hitscan in skill level but it is very easy to whiff ramm punches and venture left clicks and venture certainly rewards quick decisive engages which is a skillset in its own right

From the looks of high ranked players playing Venture, they basically seem like DPS Doom revived, except easier to play, with MAYBE slightly less damage potential. You can do some nice combos, but I don't think the character necessarily blows people up in the same way, though it might be close. Seems like a fun character, potentially problematic for the same reasons other problematic characters are problematic.

Seems like they have a high burst three hit combo with the gun, dash, melee. Could also combo it with the jump out thing. Feels balanced because consistently hitting it won't be easy for most players.

I can't figure out the hitbox or whatever for the jumping out of the ground move or the ult but once I realised the right click could be used for vertical mobility they just clicked for me and I'm going ham. I was never a doom player but it's a very similar play style for sure
