In more Pens news sounds like P.O. Joseph is on the block before he gets waivered away for free

So the return for Kessel coming off an 82 point season amounted to 1 horrid partial season of Galchenyuk and a dman that can't outplay Ty Smith in camp

POJ has been in Sully's doghouse since day one and I dunno why. Sullivan just dislikes young dmen in general I think.

Like I am ecstatic to have seen the last of Mike Matheson in a Penguins uniform but they traded a 27 year old for a 34 year old, and then signed a 32 year old. The last thing the Penguins needed this offseason was to get even loving older, but Sullivan does not like young players and especially does not like young defensemen. I'm skeptical Smith will get much playing time either but we'll see.

I just finished watching the 2016 Pens-Caps and Pens-Lightning series and I heartily recommend anyone who likes hockey take that trip down memory lane, all the games are on Youtube. Those two series were some of the best hockey that has ever been played. All three of those teams were insanely good. Also holy poo poo have the Lightning been dirty fuckers throughout the Cooper era, that's definitely not a recent thing.

2016 was probably the best Caps team of the Ovi era, I forgot how beastly that team was. I'm retroactively glad they got their Cup in 2018, those Penguins losses in '16 and '17 were some bullshit.

Reminder that the Panthers went out and hired the all time record holder for coaching losses. That is a thing to they did this summer. I'm sure we all agree that this makes perfect sense.

It wouldn't shock me if the Leafs finished 1st in the Atlantic. There's certainly plenty of talent there. And it would make their inevitable first round exit that much more Leafs.

Dark horse area for improvement is the Leafs turned over a huge amount of their training and skills coaching staff in the off-season. It’s impossible to tell what impact any of that stuff has on the players directly but someone thought the org needed change.

Not a drat thing is going to change as long as the manifestly incompetent head coach remains there.

There’s only one response the NHL should do, and that’s where, upon verification (which obviously I believe it happened) that a NHL player forced sexual assault on a child / minor, that that person does not get to play hockey anymore, you are suspended for life, your contract is voided, get the gently caress out.

On top of that, dude won 2 cups with the Penguins, so his name should also be scratched off the cup.

Obviously this is the NHL we are talking about, so who knows if they will do ANY accountability , but until they start giving actual real consequences for people’s behavior (both players and people in any organization) , this poo poo is going to keep happening because they allow it to. loving ridiculous.
