I was at this game! Buddy of mine and I try to make one Thursday night Tech game a season, because its cheap and the teams follies are amusing. Bobby Dodd is tiny, but the sightlines are terrific, they sell beer, theres zero lines for anything because no ones there, the staff are humble. Very much AA-level minor league game vibes. Which, yknow, sucks for them, but it meant I was able to use the bathroom, get a dog and a brew, and get back to my seat in 5 minutes. My favorite are the 75-year-old men with the whole "head to toe in Tech gear, pompom from the '90s, headphones to listen to the radio call" vibe who drag their wives to the game and scream at the ref the whole time. What exactly are you trying to get out of this experience, man? Tech's backup QB might be the worst Ive ever seen. At one point deep in the fourth quarter, the Jackets had 4 yards in the second half. 5-yard pass followed by a 9-yard loss on a sack, and then they had zero. Alas, I headed to MARTA after Tech was stopped on 4th down their previous possession, thinking UVA would just run the clock out, so I missed seeing this play live.
