Celestial Salve saved my rear end in certain endgame fights. Being able to heal a target from across the map can really help you extend your forces further without being punished for it.

And you can do it up to 9 times!

I've been sitting here for 5 mins trying to think of a joke to make but I just realised the animators of Mass Effect already did it for me

Okay, this is a freaking good crop of recruits! :stare: All neat variations on utility, with chances to bust something wide open in the right circumstances.

edit: I was worried when you introduced Medina as "The Girl" that it was going to be like one of the characters in the Infinite Undiscovery LP, whose defining quality was "is girl.jpeg" and barely rose above that.

Also, Jens saved my rear repeatedly simply because Spring Trap forces units to end their turn. Even if you can't knock someone over a cliff, you can make them take the turn off, and that's often as valuable.

And Lionel... I mentioned he had one trick, and that trick is Ruffle Feathers, and that's all he really needs. He's specialist, but when his time comes, he's amazing.

On my honor as the Dawnspear.
Update 31: Weather Vane

Before we start the story back in Castle Wolffort, we have a side story to see over in Hyzante.

So it appears the duchy intends to capture Glenbrook. But Prince Roland slipped from their grasp and fled to Wolffort
The ink on the treaty has barely dried and they are already declaring war.
And what's more, there is a price on Prince Roland's head. It has spurred the masses into movement.
They will bare their fangs at us in time. We cannot leave them to their own devices.
I see this as a wonderful opportunity. We can make it clear how we stand alter the Saltiron War.
Aye, and I much prefer to extinguish embers than a raging inferno.
...It sounds like you intend to start a war.
Calm yourselves. There is no need to get so worked up over this. It is true that this grave matter may one day affect Hyzante.

Idore turns towards the hierophant’s tent.

But it is in times like these that we must trust the hierophant's words more than ever.
………

Idore nods as the hierophant whispers to him and the scene fades out.

Back at Castle Wolffort, we come in to Serenoa and Benedict in Lord Symon’s chambers.

… Father, please, open your eyes! There is so much I wish to ask you.
Lord Serenoa...
I cannot let Father hear how weak I've become. I must be strong.

Just then, there’s a knock and a Wolffort soldier enters the room.

Wolffort Soldier: Lord Serenoa, Master Benedict. You have a visitor.

Who is it?

Wolffort Soldier: Lord Silvio Telliore. He wishes for an audience with Lord Serenoa.
? What business would the lord of House Telliore have with me? Tell him we will be there shortly.

Wolffort Soldier: Yes, ser.

The soldier leaves.

Every day is busier than the last.
We haven't had a moment to catch our breath.
….. You are doing a fine job as head of House Wolffort, Lord Serenoa. Your father would be proud if he could see you now.
I could not do it without you, Benedict. Thank you.

We then head to the world map, where we see a chit representing Silvio arrive at the castle.

Inside, we’re treated to a montage of Silvio presenting his proposal to the group.

Is that correct, Lord Silvio?
Indeed. I believe it our duty to fight. Some are frozen in fear, trembling at the mere thought of the duchy's power. I feel that joining the three high houses under a single flag is the only way to unite them. My men ready themselves for war as we speak. Come to Telliore and we can strike at Aesfrost together! Prince Roland will be safe with us, of course.
It's as good a plan as any. You have my thanks for getting the preparations underway.
I wonder if Lord Landroi would agree.
I doubt House Falkes would refuse a fight. Their devotion to the crown knows no bounds.
But of course. They reaped great rewards from the bountiful lands won during the war.
You propose reuniting the three high houses who led the Saltiron War to its end... It is heartening to know you would once again lend us your strength.
We certainly could use all the help we can get, though I wish we could resolve matters peacefully...
You speak as though your brother is not at fault for all this.
My bride-to-be bears no blame for the duchy’s actions.
...My apologies. Forgive me for my outburst…
But we haven't much time. I would have your answer now.
Shall we accept Lord Silvio's proposal, my lord?
….Fetch the scales, Benedict. We shall decide our path together.

We now have a chance an exploration section to work through. We start out in the great hall, but can head outside by talking to the soldier in the corner.

The first thing to do is obviously to run around and pick up all of the items. We’ll find 2 Large HP Recovery Pellets, a piece of Leather (used to upgrade some magic weapons to tier 2), a piece of Quality Fiber, and 2 Enchanting Spices (which can be used to buff someone’s magic attack). The real standout item, though, is the rearguard cloak. It’s an accessory that gives the user a lesser version of Erador’s Steelback passive, cutting damage from the rear by 20%. It’s nice to put on more fragile units like Roland, since it makes him just that bit more bulky. Funnily enough, though, it does stack with Erador’s passive itself, and makes the damage he receives from back attacks to completely trivial. It’s overkill on him, but is always fun to make use of.

Wolffort Townsperson: Although...I admit I'm as prone as any to despairing these days. not knowing when I'll be able to open shop again.

Going around talking to people, we’ll see that people are generally still hopeful, if a bit spooked at the damages to the city and their lives.

Which can be especially seen down in the bottom area where everything was and will remain burnt.

Wolffort Solider: They wouldn't be of much help in a battle.
House Telliore is, indeed. not known for their prowess on the battlefield... But I do not know if we have the luxury of choosing our allies now...

Talking to this soldier right by the gate gets us some information on House Telliore’s Might.

Wolffort Solider: We have our hands full aiding the injured and making sure everyone is fed. I dread to think what would happen if the fighting were to continue much longer...
My people are suffering after a battle on our own soil. I doubt we would be able to face another attack from Aesfrost alone...

And talking to this one in the corner tells us about House Wolffort’s Weakness.

We can also talk to another guy in town to get a reminder of the loyalty, or lack thereof, we might expect from House Telliore. After talking to him, we have a couple of convictions choices to go through.

Saltmonger: Have you heard of how the other houses are faring? To tell the truth, my family lives in the Telliore demesne... They say that Lord Silvio is not a man of the military arts and fear what should happen were Aesfrost to invade...

If worst comes to worst your family is always welcome in Wolffort. But Lord Silvio leads one of the three high houses and would do whatever it took to protect his demesne.

Saltmonger: Thank you! You are most gracious, Lord Serenoa. Hearing you say that puts my mind at ease. I only wish House Telliore were so reliable... I shall let my family know what you have told me and invite them here to Wolffort.

And the other choice is back up near the gates.

Is something the matter? Whatever it is, I would be happy to help.

Wolffort Townsperson: Well. you see... My daughter and her husband got into a fight and decided to go their separate ways. But I fear for what will happen to their poor son. I don't know what I should do...

I fear there is aught you can do. The issue is between the two of them and must be resolved as such.

Wolffort Townsperson: I suppose you're right. I might just make things worse if I stick my nose where it doesn't belong... In the end, it might be for the best that they give each other some space. Thank you, Lord Serenoa. I feel so much better now that we've spoken. I apologize for burdening you with my family's troubles, especially at a time like this...
You needn't apologize. No family is perfect.

With that done, it’s time to head back into the great hall and check out everyone’s thoughts on accepting the proposal.

Conveniently, for this one the groups are essentially organized by side. We’ll start with the rejection side since it’s slightly smaller.

Our soldiers are exhausted after our last battle with Aesfrost. I know we need all the help we can get. but even so...l cannot find it in me to trust House Telliore.

For this choice, most people are generally relatively flexible. Hughette is probably either the easiest or 2nd easiest to convince to accept the proposal, behind Benedict.

I hear that the Telliore demesne is known for its wine, not warriors. It makes me wonder if it is truly necessary for us to join forces at a time like this. I would have no qualms if Lord Silvio were a man of upstanding character, but the rumors I hear only speak to the contrary...

Geela is slightly more difficult to change, but is still doable without crazy investment in the right conviction.

Do you truly think allying ourselves with House Telliore would stop the spread of the war? It makes me wonder if it would only be pouring oil on the fire...

And finally, we have Frederica. She’s more concerned about the plight of the people than our standings, necessarily, and is the hardest of the rejecters to convince. She’s not impossible by any means, but is nowhere near guaranteed.

To say I have no doubts about Lord Silvio would be a lie... Even so, we are in sore need of allies. If the three high houses stand together, we may be able to turn the tides of war in our favor.

Heading over to the other side, I find it nice to see that even the people arguing to accept the proposal are doing so with reservations. Roland is skeptical of Silvio’s intentions, but argues that we need whatever we can get. That said, the doubts do make him relatively easy to convince to go the other way.

The high houses are sworn to protect the crown. yet Lord Silvio couldn't be bothered to leave Telliore when the capital was in danger. I can't help but wonder what he's schemin', but...if he wants to join forces. I see no reason to refuse 'im.

Meanwhile, Erador is again set in his vote. It’s basically impossible to convince him otherwise at this stage in the game, even if he does suspect something’s up.

We must be prepared for any who would march against us, but our forces are lacking in both number and supplies. House Telliore's motives matter not. We could use even those against them should the need arise.

And Anna is basically saying that she fully expects Silvio to betray us, and that we should just take what we can before then. She’s not too hard to convince to reject the plan either.

Everyone has their suspicions over Lord Silvio's offer, but I think we can guess his true intentions easily enough. Whatever House Telliore's aim might be, I am certain we can use it to our advantage.

And lastly, we have Benedict as our undecided vote. He’s essentially with Anna in that it’s pretty obvious that Silvio isn’t being honest with us at a minimum. Though he’s undecided, he does default to rejecting the proposal. However, he’s also not too tough to convince to accept it.

So with all of that covered, it’s time to vote again! Do we Accept Silvio’s Proposal or Reject the Proposal?

Everyone's expecting it to go wrong at some point, hopefully we'll have some warning to get ourselves out, and in the meantime some temporary allies would be very helpful.

GARVASE DAY!

I feel like this issue could be resolved by actually getting House Falkes on side for this supposed three-way alliance, and then if Silvio tries to pull any poo poo he's outnumbered. Ah well.
