Had a weird rear end dream where I released an encrypted batch torrent of every single Doctor Who ep in HD, including the missing eps, and would only release the decrypt key if they released the new anniversary eps straight away.

Guess my brain doesn't want to wait an entire goddamn year for more Doctor Who

I'm just considering other ways to salvage that Timeless Child bullshit.

Just double down on Time Lords Are EVILLLLLLLLLL

Choose your poison
- Fugitive Doctor is a clone of the Doctor, hence "Same brain"
- Fugitive Doctor is a future incarnation of the Master, hence why they have no qualms with using weapons, who still draws from memories that were once in the Doctors body.
- Timeless Child still occurs, they're just false memories implanted in the Doctor via Chameleon Arch fuckery while they were trying to research the history of the timelords
- "We collapsed a parrallel universe entirely, that's why your memories got all hosed up and why you can regenerate past 12 times. You've seen the life of that universes Doctor"
- "You've hosed around with the TIme Vortex one too many times, and your memories get intertwined with our progenitor. Now you know our secret, prepare to die"

The harder one to unfuck is Cyberlords, and the Master murdering all the Time Lords off screen.

I seem to recall it's the Doctor Who thread that deems the Next Week Ep Preview as spoilers.

So suit reveal is technically spoilers? But also I'm pretty sure if you're a brit it's going to be pretty hard to avoid having that spoiled.

At least with nuWho anything major is generally self contained.
Journey's End + Big Bang both deal with similar things with "the universe ending", but at least resets things by the end of the episodes

Flux ends with half the universe DEAD and the Doctor seemingly couldn't give less of a poo poo about it

We've all had some very long covid filled years, and we all deserve a bit of fan service.

Donna was also the best 10 companion, and she deserves a happier ending than the one she got.
Just sad Bernard Cribbins won't be about.

Going to go see Van Gogh Alive tomorrow and giving Vincent and the Doctor a rewatch

Framboise posted:

Okay, so can someone explain The Day of the Doctor to me? Just saw it last night. The whole episode feels like a tremendous retcon of everything one understands going into the series if you started from the beginning of the reboot-- the weight of the war on the Doctor's shoulders, the unfathomable grief and guilt over the choice he had to make, and now it's not a thing anymore? If the War Doctor is a "forgotten" doctor, does that mean the Eighth Doctor (who I had understood as the one who fought in and ended the Time War) regenerated into the War Doctor, and then the Ninth after that? Wouldn't that make the Ninth the Tenth, and so on, and therefore mean the Doctor after the one Matt Smith plays will be the final possible regeneration? Something just isn't adding up for me here.

It just feels like everything has been turned upside down all for the sake of being able to have an interesting Doctor-focused episode. And I mean I did like that it was interesting, but it feels like the "rules" of the show have just been completely thrown out the window.

There's also a mini episode! (Please bring McGann back)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-U3jrS-uhuo

War Doctor is treated as an actual incarnation of the Doctor, and this will get explained later

But for the viewers War Doctor is the War Doctor, and Eccelston is 9, Tennant is 10, Smith is 11
