Movie was fantastic. Regret not seeing it in a theater. Enjoyed it more than his other films

I liked it a lot but it was much less funny than his other films. I was laughing like a maniac through 7 psychopaths and I still occasionally get kicked out of beer bars for quoting In Bruges. Great movie but way more dour than the rest of his oeuvre. The bit with the fingers was funny but it was a bit like Punch Drunk Love where even the moments that would normally be funny are played straight.

Wish I was there...
It's funny in a mordant and/or somber way, which is why I feel I am at a remove from the film, even though I like it overall

"Mordant" is a good word for it. It does have humor its just different from his other movies while still very much being of his type.

You think you can take me at Satan's Hollow? Go 'head on!
Banshees reminded me more of his plays than any of his other movies. I loved all his other movies and I loved this, but if you go in expecting another In Bruges you might be slightly disappointed.

I had a professor in college who was a big fan of his, which is what first got me interested in In Bruges when I saw his name attached.

yeah if you haven't read his plays, this is basically the long-delayed third part in the Aran Islands trilogy (the first two being The Cripple of Inishmaan and The Lieutenant of Inishmore, both great)

If it wasn't for disappointment
I wouldn't have any appointment
