I think the "popular releases" thing is global-ish and isn't affected by your actions (except obvious stuff like filtering out things you've explicitly refused to see)

I think people should be allowed to have a Steam with porn games, but also a Steam without hitler sex. It definitely was on top of my "New & Trending" list before I ignored it.
