I have been participating in these threads for a long time! Earliest post I could easily find was from 2017, but I think I've been participating longer than that. They have helped me stay on track and accomplish many goals such as saving for the down payment on my house, paying off two cars, building a emergency fund...

I'll keep some of my usual goals this year and add some new ones! Gotta spice it up a little.

2023 Goals

1. Raise net worth by $304k to $340k.

2. Increase emergency fund from $18k to $20k. I have finally decided $20k will be my terminal goal here. Once met, I'll use the monthly contribution towards my Roth and something else? I'll figure that out this year.

3. Make one extra mortgage payment.

4. Contribute a minimum of $4.4k to Roth IRA.

5. Stay at or under my Eating Out budget for 10 out of 12 months. Was very bad at this in 2022.

6. Explore moving my Roth IRA from Betterment to a somewhere... better. Likely to occur Summer 2023.

7. Make a celebratory "11 years of YNAB" post at end of September. I can't believe I've kept a habit this long. Missed the 10 year mark a few months ago. Whoops!

8. Lose 15 pounds. Would like to lose 25 or 30, but trying to be reasonable.

8. Read 12 books. I miss reading for pleasure.

$11m of budget shortfalls means my work is talking layoffs. It currently looks like I will be safe, but it is a stressful time! The board will approve the reduced plan next month, so just a few more weeks of uncertainty, but, sheesh.
