Having watched a fair bit of Japan’s qualifiers, they can be like 2017-20 Arsenal in possession in games against worse teams - sideways passes, no direct thrust, nobody to finish it off. A shocking number of crosses in to nobody (insert joke about Japan not having a big man here). They lost to Saudi Arabia in qualifying and it was similar to that Costa Rica match - give up the one shot on goal and get shithouse’d for the other 89 minutes. A CONCACAF-rear end CONCACAF team was a terrible matchup.
